Thats bullshit, although I enjoyed the second movie for what it was the many problems in the film cant all be blamed on a rushed script.

Really? I think all of the problems stem from the fact they were, at times, effectively shooting and story boarding the action scenes without having a script in place. At the end of the day the effects, acting, music etc. were all fine it was the fact the film didn't make any sense was the problem.

like how the second film pretty much retconns the first film?

The 3d is what i'm worried about, i get dizzy watching TF & TF2 in plain old 2d and sometimes watching 3d films my eyes can't focus when things get a bit hectic on screen. Tell me that doesn't read like a recipe for upchuckorama  Trailer does look action packed kinda looks like Battle LA a bit.

A dragon? Either we're going to be hearing a lot of "yeeesss..." or Silverbolt just got the Bay treatment. Primus help us if that's Laserbeak.

Also, Yellow Prime is now more or less confirmed as Sentinel Prime for those still caring.

Yeah, that dragon did look a littler iffy. Mind you, I've never been a fan of any of the Silverbolt / Sky Lynx / etc type designs.

There looked to be rolling tendrils of some kind in there too. No idea what that could be.

Think I'm going to skip the 3D version of this. Even at its 'best', 3D just doesn't work for me. Seems to forgo clarity and colour for the sake of a small amount of depth. If Avatar and Tron couldn't sell it to me, I very much doubt Bay's style will.

Let's face it, if you're a fan of Transformers, you long abandoned interest in the series. Bay probably knows this and figures he can pretty much do what he wants. Plus, he's gone from the series after this one so even if he did care about any of the mythology at some point, you can bet he doesn't now. :)

What is wrong with Silverbolt's design? He's concorde

[edit] I'd say that the bird-ish one shown is either Lazerbeak or Buzzsaw. Makes sense considering Ravage was in the last one.

Beast Wars Silverbolt was a condor (and a wolf/eagle thing but best ignore that..)

A character called Silverbolt has been cast for the film - James Avery (Uncle Phil in Fresh Prince, Shredder in the Turtles cartoon)..

Not impressed with what they've done with Shockwave though :(

Ah yes. I didn't even think to make the Beast Wars connection as to my knowledge, all of the characters have been based off Gen 1, and as much as I loved the Beast Wars cartoon, I think he actually was only in it for about 3 episodes

Yeah, they seem to quite like the idea of Prime as a vicious murdering bastard.

He was quite the vicious bastard in the animated movie. I remember him about to pop a cap in Megatron's 'defenceless' arse, execution style ("You, who are without mercy, now plead for it? I thought you were made of sterner stuff, Megatron"). Woulda done it too if it weren't for Hot Rod and his meddling ways.

More like they seem to like the idea of Prime as a bad-ass motherfucker who rocket-boosts into battle with fucking swords attached to his arms and beats the living shit out of the bad guys. Would you rather he sat down and had tea with them?

Its not like hes Jack the Robo-Ripper killing cyber-prossies on the streets of London or some shit like that.

Quite right.

My main problem with the first, was how Prime was a bit of a big girl's blouse. Bumblebee and Jazz showed more spunk than he did. He was ready to tap out far too early in the climatic fight.

Revenge of the Fallen's only redeeming feature was Prime kicking arse and taking names during the forest fight. More of that please, Bay.

You know, for all the complaints that TF2 was a bunch of brainless action crap, what completely broke my patience with it was its endless dialogue about the Cybertronian system for tax returns and all that bullshit. If they can avoid that, maybe they have a movie on their hands.

A look at one of the toys from this summer's Transformers: Dark of the Moon over at i09 has revealed a surprising variation to the look of Optimus Prime in the sequel, likely pointing to a plot element that will have the Autobot leader donning a mechanical pair of wings.

How this ties into the film itself remains to be seen, but the wings appear to be the result of something called "Mechtech", described by Hasbro as being additional armor stored in Prime's trailer. The official description includes the following:

"The Mechtech Ultimate Optimus Prime figure features three modes of conversion – vehicle, robot, and robot with "mech suit." The trailer, which serves as a weapons depot and command center, also converts into a "mech suit" that Optimus Prime shows off when it's time to rumble.
