Sorry mate but we're on lvl 42-odd. You would NOT like to be in some of our battles.

So last night wasn't the most happiest time for me in Borderlands. We didn't seem to actually shoot anything and I was tired, ill and my heart just wasn't into it.

Also it felt a bit like we were playing 4 single player games not as a team, everytime I looked up someone had run off somewhere. I have no probs with peeps doing this but it is not for me. I play co-op for 4 of us, backs to wall as we wipe a species off the planet. I appreciate other's may be doing for other reasons it just seemed like a waste of 1.5 hrs of my time last night. I know I probably didn't help with the late start so condensed playing time, still there is no 'running off in any direction' in Team (man I should be a trainer or something).

What is everyone elses feeling, has Borderlands lost its shine and now? it is just get to level 50 as quick as possible? or do we have one last rootin tootin shootin session as a team.

I'd say it has lost it's shine somewhat - however I was tired too and wasn't really feeling it.

What is strange is that it's almost easier at the moment, despite that it should be harder? We've breezed through most things thus far on the second playthrough.

The people running off feeling I think is that people generally know where to go/what to do/get distracted. Again I was tired and wasn't fully paying attention.

We'll see. It was most fun in the earlier days as we stuck together, and I still believe that it's easier now has been a problem.

I think you are right on it getting easy so no team needed for the challenge - they do seem to have got the level of the ai a bit off kilter. The only solution would be for the host as a high level compared to the other players since the enemies spawn relative to the host, however the others would eventually catch up and I can't be arsed with all the pissing around.

Also you are right in that people are no doubt running off sometimes for efficiency purposes and to do the good deed of moving the game on, however I spend half the time now just looking at the sky firing rockets or spinning round in the gun turret at 100 miles per hour to amuse myself since nothing left to shoot. It must be said there are a few times when the running off hasn't been to hand a mission ithoughbut to start the new one.

With all the above I think I am am just making excuses to say I am out and don't think I will be there for next week. Sorry guys but ain't no fun left in Borderlands for me at the mo.

Well let's have a week off say and see how it goes...I was looking forward to much bigger guns and all - yet I'm using that rocket launcher and it's burning the crap out of things. Taking down some very tough enemies myself. And normal ones in a couple of hits due to the fire damage. Does seem a bit wrong.

Also how bugged did Skagzilla seem? No challenge whatsoever. Disappointing.

Yeah, I agree with the sentiment, there was no challenge at all last night. Skagzilla was just a waste of time, Sledge was a piece of piss, and that big guy we had to take down to get the mine key was down in less that 20 seconds. Nothing has come as challenging as the Crystal Cave on playthrough 1. Plus I still haven't found any super awesome weapons to use, which is kinda disappointing. Not putting the game down here but I'm playing the same thing I've done about 5 times previously now and it's begun to get a bit tired. On the first playthrough it was pretty necessary to do all the smaller tasks in order to level up to do the plot tasks but there's just no need to do them in Playthrough 2. Plus, the selling weapons to make money to then buy more weapons just doesn't come into play anymore because the four of us seem to do well enough with what we've got.

I admit to running off occasionally but it wasn't to start missions, just to get to a place and wait. It was certainly indicative of me getting a bit bored. If every task was difficult then we'd all be inching towards our goals as a tight group, like it was at the start, but that's not the case anymore. The levelling of the game just doesn't seem to be balanced correctly.

But guys, it's been bloody great playing with you, and I hope we meet up on another game in the future (Borderlands 2?).

HA! I should have expected that!

If the consensus is to let it lie, then I am happy to do so. Tuesday had more than its fair share of lull periods (we were walking around the Dahl Headlands like Terminators), and the challenge was just not there for the most part. To be fair, the Dahl Headlands are probably the dullest part of the game. The Marley and Moe mission was hectic and a fair few revives were needed, but there was no point where the peaks of earlier games were reached.

As stated above, I have completed it a few times now and it probably needs a rest. Happy to dip in and out when suitable-level players are online, but I really need to focus on finishing some other games. It has been immensley fun, even when I could not hear most of the conversations. It is testament not only to the quality of the game but also the sportsmanship of you guys, who for me highlighted how the game really deserves to be played.

So long, and thanks for all the loot.

Ha ha yeah I don't think I will be selling the game and would be good to get to lvl 50. One day in the far flung future we will get together again and finsih the second play through. My biggest disappointment is we never got to do that arena round where the bad guys drop from cages.

If someone can remember where that is we should make that our final swansong maybe. Next Tuesday will be a no no as Fazz will be busy playing at being an alien and I will be busy playing dead :-(

Right! Who fancies booting this bad boy back up and getting into some bits we've not finished/started? The level cap patch will be along at some point I wager...

I know I turned down the offer to restart this a month or two back but now I've finished Fallout New Vegas I actually find myself fancying a bit of Borderlands in between bouts of NFS. I haven't tried any of the DLC so would be up for that as well.

I've got all the DLC for Borderlands, save for the newest one (but would get that to play with the group).

Also, I've got a lvl 28 Gunslinger now, but would prefer to start a new campaign. Wouldn't mind being Mordecai again if that's okay, I love pistols and revolvers :)

Groovy. I played Soldier last time, and whilst I have no problem doing so again would not mind another character for my next playthrough. So either the girl or the psycho. Take your pick Karzee.

We need another player if possible. I have messaged Disciple via Live, but if anyone else is keen sign up. First come, first served.

I'll go with the Soldier then (I lurrrve that turret and 'Ring Of Health' it provides).

Anyone else interested in joining us for a 4-player co-op? It's a bit of a lonely experience in 1-player but transforms into a manic game with four, i.e. loads of enemies on screen requiring us all to work together to take them down.

The most important thing I reckon is dedication. I've started about 6 campaigns with several people, but all ended after the first, maybe a second session.

Since Karzee and I usually play Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit several evenings a week, it's little trouble to switch one or two of those nights for Borderlands.

Now the F1 Championship has finished I can commit the time to complete a play-through. I want to lesson my playtime on NFS anyway because I don't want to tire of it too soon. Any evenings bar Wednesday suits me (although Fridays can sometimes be difficult).
