I've always had a soft spot for the OG stylings of the Vectrex.

My little arcade cab!

EDIT: Posting that reminded me that my mate Bill fried his Spectrum by placing the contact board connector thingy of a Vectrex copy of Bezerk to the connector board of the Spectrum, 'to see what happens'.

I have one of those. They are indeed lovelly (much better in the flesh than in the pictures). The plastic material it's made from is really unique. It has a weird, very slightly furry quality about it, highly unusual. Unlike anything I've ever seen before or since.

my parents bought one of those. just seeing the picture there brings back the smell of the study in the house where i grew up - must've spent half my time sitting at that desk taking turns playing it, or waiting to be told mum was done typing up whatever it was she was typing and i could have a go, just for ten minutes, etc etc. i love that bit of plastic that slid across to reveal either the cart slot or the floppy disk drive, meant you couldn't ever just leave the controllers plugged in when you were done.

Technically it's a computer, but it had the cartridge slot on the top which instantly booted my faves like Star Raiders, Lode Runner, and some boxing game I can't remember the name of. I still think it look sleek compared to the Speccy, Amstrad, or C64.

Captain Sticky's Gold!

:blah:
