EA have now confirmed that they're working on this for the 2010 financial year. I for one am shitting myself with joy.

Does anyone know why it's been so long and what happened to change the series from being a main console game in a successful franchise to a crappy side game on the wii?

Is this a true new game, or their iPhone attempt? http://goo.gl/8Hei

:omg:

This has made my year!

I fucking love SSX. SSX3 would place inside my top ten somewhere with Tricky not too far behind.

The half hour blast down the entire mountain in 3 is pure WOAH.

Please don't fuck with it EA - just make it look nice!

I remember buying a PS 2 at launch and a copy of the first SSX. Great game.

Also, I think it was the only launch game that got a good score in the reviews. Edge gave it an 8/10.

I too bought SSX at PS2 launch too and played pretty much every character and course to death. Fantastic game. I also loved 1080 avalanche on the GC but there hasn't been anything (other than blur which I didn't like at all) since.

Remember seeing that on a mate's launch machine on the day and being blown away. It was the only really impressive, next gen feeling game at the launch.

crappy side game on the wii

Get lost.

SSXBlur was bloody brilliant.

Probably the best use of a nunchuck of any Wii game, which made bombing down the mountain even more satisfying than SSX3.

And stringing together uber tricks goes down as one of my favourite moments in videogames.

The soundtrack was alright too.
