I really want to play this, it looks ace and really charming and mental. I've been looking to get a US 360 for a while and this might have speeded up that process a bit :( Pity it costs so much to import one though, wish you could mod 360's for region free play.

So......who's Zach? ;)

I thought it was obvious who Zach was though I won't say in case I'm right!

It's good that the Giant Bomb crew have the charisma to make this endurance run entertaining because the game itself looks like absolute dog shit to play.

Doesn't look that bad to me, a bit clunky but nothing outright bad.

wait, is the the new vampire rain?

No as no matter how this game plays it has character, Vampire Rain was just bland shite. (not that a game should control terribly, just saying VR didn't really have much going for it at all, controls OR story wise)

Very late to the Twin Peaks party but I've started watching it. Shit  it's like they copied it all in a Word doc then just altered some of the interjections and other minor words like 'a' and 'the' to change small things around. Plagiarism GCSE style.

It only makes me want to play the game more. But it's making the TV show too funny :)

Finished this with 25 hours on the clock over the weekend and I have to say that I fucking loved it. It is basically a survival horror open world game with a twin peaks style storyline. Now first thing is that this is most definitely a $20/budget game. The graphics can be truly atrocious and the controls are the same old resident evil style gameplay that we've played in the past and the combat isn't great but it's neither absolutely terrible either. Despite these it's one of the most interesting, unique and fun games I've played in a long time. The story is very compelling making you want to find out more, the town's full of great and very interesting characters with sidequests that reveal more about them and it's a very funny game to boot. Not in a 'so bad it's good' kinda way, it's just got some well written dialogue and quirky characters. The voice acting's generally pretty good all round and the main character 'Francis York Morgan' is one of the best videogame characters this year. I also still have no fucking idea what the hell happened story wise later on in the game :o

I would say that if you know what to expect in terms of production values and it doesn't put you off then give it a go if it makes its way over here (for a good price) or if you have an import 360. I would absolutely love a sequel and hope we get one in the future. Also remember to do some sidequests straight off which give you weapons with infinite ammo and a device for fast travelling about town. I think if I had to drive everywhere constantly I would have gone mad.

7/10 from Eurogamer. :)

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/deadly-premonition-review

There's one moment that sums up Deadly Premonition better than any other, and perhaps tells you more than the score below possibly can. It's a line that comes at the end of a lengthy ghost story, relayed by a store owner in hushed tones under a dim, green light: "Cope's Tunnel...some people call it Corpse Tunnel now." It's played absolutely straight, and it's impossible to tell whether you're supposed to laugh or take it seriously.

That's Deadly Premonition to a T. It's the Amy Winehouse of videogames: rambling and incoherent, a bit of a mess and not much to look at, but with a unique and distinctive voice that's very hard to ignore. Isn't that right, Zach?

Having been following the Endurance Run religiously — I'm a Vinny and Jeff fan, personally — Deadly Premonition is pretty much what I originally expected Alan Wake to be back when it was still open-world, albeit made on about 5% of the budget by a Japanese team.

It could also be described as one of the best Dreamcast games never made. There's a whiff of Blue Stinger's endearing crappiness about it.

That's a great way of putting it. It's got some brilliant ideas, but most of them aren't particularly well-executed because it's been made on such a shoestring. But it's such a fascinating world with such an interesting lead character. I had about ten pages of notes I took when reviewing the game, just constantly scribbling down stuff. About half of it didn't make it into the review because it just would have seemed like rambling.

I found the world itself and exploring it far more interesting than the fairly bog-standard survival horror bits, and though the combat looks much better in Alan Wake, I imagine I'll feel similarly about that. It'd be great if one day someone would just create a fascinating world to explore and a mystery to solve without having to resort to combat to keep everyone's interest.

I demand a PAL release right this instant.

According to Shane Bettenhausen — who now works at Ignition, the US publisher — Rising Star are likely bringing the game to Europe in the Spring.

I would assume negotiations in that regard have been going on for some time, as I'm not sure why the US 360 version would be region locked if a separate PAL release wasn't on the cards.
