Inside Xbox shows

So, there have been a number of little mini-programs running for a while now and I wondered if anybody watched them?

I've generally don't have any interest in the interviews, but have started to watch some of the 'SentUAMessage', the 'What's In Store' and even the OXM reports and generally find that they aren't too bad. Some of them have even raised a chuckle.

The hosts don't look entirely embarassed to be there and they are quite informative, and as a short magazine-program I think they are pitched about right. How do they compare to the Sony magazine program (do you still have to pay for that)?

I watch them occasionally, they can be little more than thinly veiled hype most of the time with not much info but they're OK as little things to watch. I generally think the presenters are a bit emo for my liking but it's probably me getting old.

From what I've seen Qore's content is better produced and is much more likely to feature new footage rather than using trailers available elsewhere, but then it only comes out once a month and isn't free.

I've only recently started watching the Inside Xbox content and I think it's pretty good. I do feel somewhat compelled to give the presenters a haircut, but at least they come across as genuine gamers that actually know what they're talking about. The humour is pleasant enough from what I've seen, too.

Things like SentUAMessage aren't really aimed at me, of course. A lot of the questions they answer make you wonder if people putting them forward have ever heard of Google, but then the programme is clearly aimed at the wider Live audience as opposed to forum dwellers such as myself.

I also like perving on Jessica Chobot on those IGN strategy things

There's something off putting about her, although I can't put my finger on it. On the flipside I find the girl on the last two SUAM shows to be incredibly attractive, more so than some might say her looks should warrant.

I feel like I should start watching Top Gear and subscribe to Nuts now.

As much as we'll probably get people chiming in about the presenters being nothing more than posy haircuts they do genuinely have enthusiasm and a depth of knowledge on gaming and more importantly they dont talk down to the viewer nor disparage gaming. I also enjoy their coverage from big gaming expos and stuff too and it all moves along at a fair clip so you're never bored.

That MSN tech editor? Yeah she seems quite nice

Also there's nothing wrong with watching Top Gear <_<

This, really. I think the presenters (who do have stupid haircuts, I have to agree) do seem to have some love for gaming, but also can talk to camera - how many gaming shows have we seen in the past with presenters shoe-horned into a topic they are clearly uncomfortable with?

I certainly don't feel insulted by their shows, and also think they talk to their audience pretty well.

And I don't mind admitting that the first SUAM I watched was was last week, so I could perve a little over the girl.

The interviews though can be very hit-and-miss - there is a FFXIII interview, and the translator clearly has absolutely no idea what the hell she is talking about, because she says the same thing (badly-phrased) about 5 times.

Is Qore's content a bit-more commercially-focussed then? One of the things I don't mind about the Xbox stuff is that whilst I know they are essentially hawking games, I don't feel like I'm being advertised to - how does Qore compare with that, content-wise?

Thought it was just me. I actually sat through the whole video just for her.

I think my friend knows that Pointyhead guy and he's supposed be a nice chap. If only the shows weren't completely tedious.

I liked the episodes of the Xbox guy (who's name escapes me) who was learning how to be a DJ to then perform at the DJ Hero launch party. My minor claim to fame is that I used to work next to MrPointyHead in a job about five years ago. He's a great guy :omg:

I always watch them. Bit of a guilty pleasure, and i assumed everyone else watched them, but didn't want to say.

They know what they're talking about. They're funny (to me) and they've finally figured out they needed some games savy eye candy.

I bet a bunch of rllmukers have "Sent them a message", Bollocks to gooseberries!

I have to admit I love em, the SUAM and stuff with those two emos. Yes they have silly hair and their humour is sometimes laboured but I find in 5-10 minute doses its a good watch.

They also have interviews and stuff from someone on the Official Xbox Magazine, and unfortunately I find these the complete opposite, I find them too cringe worthy to watch. Some poor hack who has no presenting talent looking thoroughly awkward while interviewing.

I watch and quite enjoy them. The presenters obviously do play the games. I wanna know what happened to the American couple who used to review xbox live games - no word they just vanished. I have filed several reports but no one across the pond seems to appreciate the mystery.

Is there an equivalent on PSN as it didn't seem obvious in my light scanning of the dashboard equivalent, be useful to know if there was.

At first I hated the two emo twerps on there Mr PointyCock and SuperCuntlo, but I can mange to watch SentUAMessage without vomiting now.

Actually the shows aren't that bad, they are pretty regular, a bit hypey sure, but they are pretty well informed and they don't just focus on the big mega games. And it's free. Some of the "humour" is pretty terrible but at least they try.

Yeah I'm glad they do 'em now. Yet another +1 for Xbox live over PSN, as there is nothing like this on there.

Oh and that new bird is pretty hot :omg:

It sounds more akin to Pulse than Qore, with the upside of Pulse being free, and I think there is a new one every fortnight on the US PSN. It does new game and video releases.

God no. It's the desparately forced, unfunny 'jokes' that they feel obliged to pack into each 'show' that really gets on my nerves. See the Left 4 Dead 2 'special' as exhibit A. Cringeworthy like a 6th form tribute to Shawn of the Dead, but by people who aren't funny.

Also, why the thing is so massively compressed is a mystery to me - it looks like shit (suppose that complements the content) which is hardly a good advert for Microsoft's video content streaming, nor the games that they showcase in the reports.

Looks like i'm in the minority that like it. They seem like really canny people, who are genuine games players. Ive laughed a fair few times at them and the small writeups they usually do for demos and stuff.

I'm glad they're on, make it a lot less corporate and stale.
