Transformers the movie (the original)

It's classic, not sure if in my elderly cynical state I could watch it any more though. It's been a long time since I've seen it. Although it IS quotable as fuck. The Quintessons were wicked too.

"Guilty or Innocent?"

"Innocent!"

"Feed them to the Sharkticons."

Oh, and it has an amazing soundtrack. Fuck Stan Bush in the fucking ear, Lion is where it's at:

I know. He knows. How could you get mad at cookie, the man's a legend.

You sweet, sweet man. And nice to see you admit your foolish error of judgement regarding the film.

I know a lot of people say it is a deeply flawed film but I don't really see it. It makes perfect sense, doesn't have plot holes and is on an epic scale without the epic running time. The way they kill off so many beloved characters is brutal (yes, it was to bring in a new line of toy merchandise but it was a ballsy way to start a children's film) and it is one of the most quotable films ever made. Plus the soundtrack is immense.

Well remembered. I've really not got the smartest mates in the world.

The whole bit when the Decepticons attack the shuttle and kill off Ironhide, Prowl etc all the way up to the scene with Hot Rod spotting the hole in the shuttle is possibly my favourite sequence in film history.

I always felt sad for Wheeljack and Windcharger as neither even had fitting send offs in the film we just see their bodies getting dragged out of the way.

I'm off to watch it again as it must have been six months since the last time.
