PK
Is anyone going to be playing this on PC? Co-op looks all manner of amazing fun but I don't have any friends who're PC gamers or any friends, come to think of it

PK
I doubt it, I don't know what my Steam name is! I'll find out. I didn't realise there was a Steam subforum

Co-op looks all manner of amazing fun but I don't have any friends who're PC gamers or any friends, come to think of it I'm on Steam, hit me up on mubblegum if you fancy - pre-ordered the Steam version ages ago. The comic part 1 is awesome - they're fantastic at marketing - it's just left me more excited and eager to release (and part 2)
The Sarge
The first 7 minutes of coop... Sorry. Now we all have to resist clicking (and I've broken the link on purpose so it doesn't show embeded! Now you know the youtube code anyway) Surprisingly spoiler free, (it's basically the tutorial) but as there's not long left until the game hits, it's probably not a good idea for those who've avoided all media to watch it. Some interesting info about the co-op, hub-world Not really a spoiler, just being overly cautious.
Retroid
So I'll probably get it on Steam but ideally I'd like a demo which everybody seems to be hinting at. Not because I'm not sure if the game will be good - just not sure if it will run on my set up...

Ketchup
Some quick q's. Is co-op online only or is there local too? Is the co-op a separate game to the single player and any ideas on rough length? I really enjoyed the first portal, especially because it was the perfect length but i do worry with portal 2's darker tone and talk of expended game time it might not be quite as fun as the original. NecroMorrius
Hey guys, I've been putting all this in the HL3 thread (out of optimism more than anything else...) but the Valve ARG has kicked up some cool concept art and music from Portal 2. Here's the tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9otTiphQHGY And here's all of the concept art
Yoshimax
I saw an advert for this on TV last night. To say I was surprised (pleasantly) would be an understatement.
squirtle
I just pre-ordered this from Game for £30.49 with triple reward points, which I thought was quite decent. I'm not one for the overarching Valve universe, but I am looking forward to more brain bending portal craziness.

JPR
Suspected as much, thanks. I do wonder about the release date as well, most sites still seem to have it as next Thursday or Friday yet Steam says Tuesday, don't know if it's just a case of people not updating the sites yet. Valver
So did the rumour of cross platform play and "buy it on PS3, get the Steam PC version thrown in for free" come true do we know? I want this on PC, but Im happy to pay a few more quid if I can grab the PS3 version and get the PC version gratis too (I do have a PS3!) Game.co.uk and Amazon dont seem to mention it... In addition, those who purchase Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 may unlock a Steam Play (PC & Mac) copy of Portal 2 at no additional cost by linking their PSN and Steam accounts. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/18/portal-2-on-ps3-features-cross-platform-chat-multiplayer-and-a/

Something people need to be aware of. When you buy a game on Steam, you register it on Steam. It ties to your account across multiple platforms. So I assume, when you buy the PS3 version of Steam, you aren't getting two different versions, you simply register 'Portal 2' to your account, and it shows up on PC, Mac and PS3. So, any attempt to 'buy both and sell the PS3 version on' etc won't work, I wouldn't have thought. It would be like trying to buy Portal 2 on PC and 'sell the Mac version on'. It would be like trying to buy Portal 2 on PC and 'sell the Mac version on'. I imagine there will be a unique CD-key in the PS3 version which you redeem on PSN while linking to Steam. You'd get the PC version to play online with then, but the CD key is then used up, so the next purchaser (if I traded the PS3 disc) just gets the single player experience only I also dont expect that you can play the PS3 version co-op against the free PC version - as Steam will detect you logging in twice and lock out one version temporarily. moosegrinder
I'm very very worried that the PS3 version will be tied to the account and will require you to be connected to PSN to verify it on boot up, like DC Universe Online.
Yavimaya
Pre-ordered this, at long last. The adverts have been brilliant and I really can't wait for the release now. Although it does show much much they've given away the original, as I got my free copy for pre-ordering and couldn't find a single person on my friends list who didn't already have it. Had to resort to posting it on Facebook to find someone to pass it along too.
