I've been trying to get 3-stars rating for the last 3 years, it's never going to happen. I also thought the unlock structure was a bit shit in this - want to unlock more parts for your kart? Play single player arcade again and again. They should have let you amass coins through time trialing too...

Been playing against my 5-year-old nephew, and he's been giving me a right kicking. Admittedly he has more time on it than I do, and more unlocks for his Kart. And he is nearly 6. So, y'know...

:unsure:

Sister-in-law asked me had I let him win. I said yes, obviously.

:unsure::unsure:

Awesome game though. Also struggling to 3-star anything in the 150cc.

Dont you have to finish with 10 coins each time? Its been a while.

Doesn't seem to make any difference afaik. I've done it plenty of times yet still not 3 starred a certain course. I've 3 starred quite a few 150cc tracks but I'll be buggered if I'm doing em all when it's completely luck based.

Don't want to jynx anything but I've just 3-starred three 150cc cups in one sitting! :omg:

I think the main thing that matters is that you stay in front for as long as possible, collect as many coins (it doesn't seem to require you to finish with 10 every single time) and finish first on every track.

Wohoo!

I know this is Nintendo buuuttt...

I have mario kart 7 on a cart but as it was for sale on cdkeys for £12 i thought i would pick it up, nice to always have it with me and the kids can fight over the cart...

Anyhoo, it doesn't seem to pick up the save file so i have to start again - is this the case or do i need to do something with the save file to get it to work??

Yep, this is the way.

Keep an eye on the lower screen; if an opponent gets a blue shell, you might need to drop back to 2nd, let them get hit, then pull ahead again - depending on your lead.

It's not easy but it's certainly not just luck.
