The riddles and trophies are like crack once they get you hooked. Best collectables ever anyone ?

They are certainly up there. I think along with the Crackdown Orbs.

Its because a number of things: nice variety of mechanics used, varied difficulty, worthwhile rewards, teasing trophies, the option to tag them yourself and finally the option for the game to tag many for you. It's certainly a robust template to follow and like Crackdown, experiencing a small amount can lead to obsessive collection.

Snuck in a little caped crusading this morning before leaving for work; did an epic massive fight involving a hammer Guy, a Titan and about 30 thugs. Got my ass handed to me several times but once I hit the zone it was AMAZING.

I keep forgetting to utilise all my gadgets during combat though

During the stealth sections is it still possible to pull thugs off ledges using the batclaw like in arkham asylum? I've tried it a few times with no luck, except it seemed to pull them into the rail and temp stun them.

It's definitely possible. :)

I used it quite a bit in the predator level near the end, before you take the elevator.

Let me guess:

Mr Freeze? For my first few attempts I thought there weren't options! It really does make you use everything in the room.

For me it's the best boss fight since The End from MGS3.

I was down to my last health bar

the whole room was frozen, I really couldn't work out what to do. All of a sudden I remembered the disrupter - awesome stuff. After the fight I realised I hadn't tried the launch liner takedown, can't be sure that would've worked though?

Just finished the Steel mill fight on NG+, it was tough but I've had enough practice in the challenge rooms to make it fun and did it on my 4th attempt.

It's great how Joker joins in with his weedy kicks and punches and the slo-mo finisher with the ariel attack whilst he cowered behind that shield was one of my favourite moments.

Try and work out how you get the trophy in the cell next to the calendar man is all I'm saying.

Ok I'm not usually an arsehole like this but LOL I just did this and it wasn't really difficult at all.

you do these fuseboxes at one point in the main quest, its simply a matter of finding a nearby source of electricity. All I had to do was run back up the stairs and LO AND BEHOLD there's a big blue spark.

I really can't understand how you find this so difficult as to need a guide. Unless youre the kind of person who just HAS to get something there and then and can't bide your time. Either way, my sympathies. :)

I am finding the 'push the buttons without touching the ground' trophies a bit tricky though! (Omg says boozy, how on earth did you figure that out without a guide?!?!)

I'm a late comer to this, only started it a couple of nights ago.

Blown away by the intro and start to the game, incredibly cinematic - it really draws you in. Then I spent most of my first session playing, just swooshing about the place and admiring the pretty views and graphics. Amazing!

It find it rather weird you start the game with half your gear already, like the explosive gel and Batclaw and remote Batarangs - these were all things that took some time to find in AA, and I loved the Metroid feel that gave the game. Oh well.

BTW is it normal to switch to Catwoman after a short time in the main story? I wanna be Batman not some bint!

You don't spend long as Catwoman, And it's confined to the start, three short bits in the middle, and another one after the end. She's lame.

I wondered if it was to do with the Catwoman code I entered at the start.

I don't mind playing as her but it's a slightly muddled experience when I can power up Batman's powers when I get a level up with her! And I'm left thinking how should I be distributing power-ups between then.

Perfectly normal if a little distracting. Don't worry about the equipment, there's plenty of new toys for that Metroid feel :)

It was my first encounter with this and I'd barely used the tool necessary. I've already admitted to being the World's Worst Detective when I couldn't figure out how to get under the shutters. I'm sorry to offend but yeah I do think you're an arsehole though. Since you already decided I'm a "fucking cunt" we'll just have to continue this relationship until an epic battle occurs. I'll get back to formulating a cunning plan for your demise.

Wait, I didn't call you a 'fucking cunt' at all! :(

I can never tell if Boozy is genuine. Detective mode does nothing.

BTW was there an update for this last night (Xbox) or is it my 360 being weird and behind the times?

Mine updated too, guess it was something to do with the new free outfit or challenge pack.

I've had the bug where the game fails to load whilst signed in xbl, so I have to load it up signed out. Haven't tested it yet but maybe it fixes that.

Ooooh NG+ is amazing! I'm really enjoying the mop up of Riddler goodies with slightly tougher combat. Gotten quite used to the lack of counter indicators already!

One thing is a bit annoying though: Batman can't pick up the pink trophies, but Catwoman can pick up the green ones. Lame.

I'm sure there's a green question mark that can only be reached by Catwoman. It's past one of those ceiling grate things that only she can use.

I finished off the stealth challenge rooms last night, getting all medals. Some of the extreme challenges really make you come up with some devious tactics. I especially liked the "leave the guy with the jammer till last" maps. Not having detective mode really makes you change the way you play - using hit and fade tactics, skirting round the room to get to good vantage points, REC-gunning the jammer to give you a few seconds of X-Ray vision. Suddenly you need to use all the tools at your disposal and they don't feel cheap Loved it.

The last Extreme Challenge took me ages - it's Hugo Strange's control room at the top of wonder tower. There is an armoured jammer guy to contend with, but you're allowed to take him out. Except manoeuvring round the level to get a clean knockout on him is really hard. I ended up becoming at expert at the traversal controls just from flitting around the outside of that map.
