Bioshock: Infinite - New E3 Demo - Post #307

I played a few hours of this and found it to very ho-hum art aside.

I agree with the critics. I haven't been back to it because it's so uninspired.

It's worth pressing on just for the story. At least you can complete it in 14 hours and I'd say its worth it for story alone. Just so frustrating at what could have been.

  • 2 weeks later...

So, I'm all done with the first part of the DLC - which was alright, but kept the juicy plot bits dangling like a motherfucker.

So... I mean, I think I get it - but it seems like a big DUH, if I've gotten it right. Elizabeth(s) are going around murdering the shit out of the various Comstocks in various gruesome, vengeful ways, right? She also appeared slightly older (or maybe that was just the outfit), so perhaps she's been doing it for a while? She seems massively grumpy, regardless.

I got the season DLC pack when it was dirt cheap on steam but haven't had the game installed since I finished it at release.

Can I just jump straight into BAS Part 1 from the main menu, or do you have to go somewhere in game to access it like Skyrim?

I want to play BAS (particularly now I've heard part 2 is vaguely worthwhile), but not at that price. Might be tempted by the sale on part 1, but I'll probably wait however long it takes to just do the next big Bioshock sale where they're both cheap.

Is Clash in the Clouds worth playing? To me the combat is the worst thing about the series, don't know if I can be arsed with it.

Not if you dont like the combat as thats all it is.

The last years worth of work from the now defunct Irrational, vaguely worthwhile. Dont bother with it, you dont deserve it.

I bought the first part and have a lot higher opinion of Infinite than a lot here, but I don't know if I particularly feel like buying this instalment after the way 2K treated the poor sods who spent years making the game, whilst the indecisive publicity hound, sorry creative genius responsible for the tortured development walks straight into another cushy job at the publishers whilst the gaming press fawn at his feet relegating the collateral damage to a footnote.

Being so incredibly dismissive and waiting for sales is fucking bullshit, it needs saying. If somethings good, and clearly had a lot of time and effort poured into it, then it should be fucking supported. Ive no time for such negative shite as his post...oh...."if its vaguely alright i might wait on a sale or something". What a passionless, tragic statement. But then again, rllmuk hates Bioshock.

Same as all the xbone fans loving Titanfall, but they;ll go out of their way to make mexican accounts to save a fiver and deny MS UK a sale.

Support your fucking favourite games.

I completely and utterly despise passionless people who suck the fun out of something so brilliant. Its the Bio Infinite DLC thats taken a year to come out, the full fat, Halflife Episode 2 style proper big release that fans have been waiting for. But no, some fanny thinks oh it might be "vaguely alright" and he might deem to buy it in a sale. Maybe play through a bit of it once on normal, having youtubed the first part, or read spoilers before. Then, what a suprise, he has a less than great experience.

Call me mental all you like...but its a big event, its getting good write ups (spoiler filled so best avoided), its something to be excited about. Not whinged about. I was a lot more reserved than I could have been. He needs to fuck off and not buy it, its not for him. Its for people who can enjoy things and feel excitement.

He shouldnt play it then, lifes too short do do things youre not bothered about, by choice. Call me extreme all you like, but your time is limited on this earth, as i have seen recently from personal experience, so coming into the thread of game you dont care about, to mildly slag it off, say you might play it you suppose when its cheap. Fuck me, get a life, its ridiculous. Go play something youre enthused over. do something you care about. Oh..BAS ep 2 is "vaguely alright". Yeah i bet thats what they were going for, working on DLC for a full year, and asking 15 quid for all three parts. Vaguely alright.

Nope, its the final ending to a 3 part series, Irrationals swan song, stories ended, loops closed, im absolutely ready for it, super excited. Nope, this fool is pondering sales, oh maybe he'll run through it he supposes. It might be vaguely ok. Fucks sake.

wow

ANNNNYWAY - it's interesting so far. It starts brilliantly, and doesn't feel nearly as half-arsed as Ep 1. There was a proper "holy shit" moment in the first ten minutes. I just hope there's a shitload of madness to come.
