Dark Souls - Prepare To Die... You Died.

BTW way is Sir Curtis he has not posted in a while maybe he has been invaded, raped and slayed by Dark Souls?

I'm here. Been busy slaying all manner of fucked up creatures. ;)

Only one major boss left (and i have a fast-track to his door), then it's off to the final shownown.

Navigating Tomb of Giants without the Lantern was proving impossible. So i summoned a couple of Japanese guides. We cleared the level and killed the boss, only for the game to completely lock up. After re-booting my PS3, it re-spawned me outside the fog door. So i had to kill the boss again. Luckily it's prone to fire, and i'm a complete Pyromaniac, so it didn't take much effort. Definitely the easiest of the BIG bosses.

Currently rocking the Fire Uchi +10, which does 252+252 damage. Noice! :eyebrows:

1 Still a bit to go....

2- Ha, yeah thats fun. Or get behind them as they do it for a super-cool stab animation.

3- I can't remember... I don't think so - you'd best buy the key that the peddler sells in the Undead Burg (near the bonfire), it'll be useful later.

Nah, they only drop humanity really. Like all ratsssss.

I've been keeping the boss souls, but using the soldier ones to level up and repair my shit. I think it's ok, they don't have any other use that I can see...

I'm a knight and I didnt get cursed once. I did bomb around with my shield up most of the time (normal knight shield, nothing special - it does have 100% physical block though....). Kill the fuckers a bit quicker? ;)

Yeah, like I said getting to the boss isn't hard - it's just

the fucking cliff kept catching me out :( easy to fall off when locked on... will try again though. I kept my shield up the whole time and the sheidl only blocks the heads attacking. It doesn't stop the watercannon and it still takes a large chunk of health away :(

Ooooh, forgot to share all... i found an awesome little ring. Levels of spoilers below - first detailing what it does and second where I found it.

I found this ring that basically regenrates my health every time I slay someone, so it's awesome when there's loads of enemies. Heals at least one little nipple of the health bar per kill, sometimes more if it's a formidable foe.

In the depthsssss - well worth exploring, there's loads of souls to be had there.

Thanks for the reply. I eas referring to the one massive giant rat in the sewer by the waterfall. Not your generic mutant zombie death rats of abnormal size. I killed it from a ledge but was too scared to drop down to get the treasure before exploring to then fall down a gap and meet our frog friends.

Some shitty news about NG+

All your Reinforcement/Upgrade knowledge gets reverted back to square one. Meaning you have to collect and distribute all the Embers to all the relevant Blacksmiths before you can continue upgrading your specialist weapons.

<_<

Yeah, sorry, I meant that big rat. Same drop for me, ooo man eeee tteee.

Just killed the Hydra. After him nailing me about 10 times last night, a bit of sleep has got me back in it :D he dropped two items but I can't find them in my inventory.

In case some of you have failed to notice, this game contrives to fuck you up in so many ways.

I am so happy to report that it just backfired! Eat it Dark Souls!

Just in Sen's Fortress

Was hacking the first Snake Sorcerer to pieces and he backs off quick but while trying to plan how to burn then eat me, he gets three trap arrows in the back.

HA!

Look, I'll take what I can get, ok?

This game is afraid of me. I have seen its true face.

FUCK SAKE.

I clipped the trigger on my PS3 and attacked an NPC at firelink. god damn, now i'm a little bit stuffed. Can't use the damn bonfire there now, and I have no idea where to farm enough souls to absolve me, I'm not far enough to do the trick suggested earlier.

RAGE.

Got invaded by an invisible, invincible player earlier (as described by ... Mr Jeff, I think it was, a few days ago). No idea what you're supposed to do there. Unless I'm missing something, you can't harm them. At all. Does the effect wear off? Maybe he kept casting it because we were fighting for a minute or two. Bit overpowered, that, surely?

It was me and yeah, it's ridiculous as there's literally nothing you can do. Is the level range less restrictive when it comes to invading if you're with one of the PvP covenants? That's what I read somewhere else anyway, hope it's true.

NG has been really easy so far, I wonder what level they expect you to complete the game at first time round? I'm 1 shotting most trash and the bosses have been destroyed.

After passing the door to the Capra Demon, you find the link through to

the sewer tunnel leading back to Firelink shrine & Undead Burg -

I was with a friend who gave the merchant behind the bars a smack, before we realised he was a merchant.... The guy takes offence, runs down his tunnel a little way, and is then forever there, teasing and taunting you, every time you pass.

Let's just say if I did that, does he ever talk to you again? It's just, I may have done that :(

God, I wanted to continue my game from Undead Burg tonight and I got raped left, right and center. I got a bit cocky and thought I'd smash my way through God of War style instead of approaching every single enemy with caution and respect.

Tonight is not my night to play this game, too short on energy and patience. Maybe go to bed early and charge up for the weekend.

Wait wait wait. Are you telling me that if I had manned up and gone through a certain cave, that I could have skipped a massive chunk of Blight Town? Fuck you Dark Souls. I hate Blight Town. In a good way I suppose. It's basically designed to infuriate the player as much as possible, first time I've really lost my patience with the game, not helped by a weird shitty invisible wall glitch which caused me too lose 14,000 souls. I actually disagree with the idea that using the farming trick in the forest doesn't hurt the experience (pillaging good souls in the gameworld loses the excitement/impact) but I'll definitely be making those 14,000 up.

How much of Blight Town is left after the second bonfire/shortcut?

Fuck. FUCKFUCKFUCK. I cancelled my order for the guide when I thought I was going to sell it and now it's 'Temporarily out of stock'. Future are useless for reprints, especially as they take the Limited Edition thing seriously. I'm such a fucking penis.

Moosey baby. Go in like Peter North, raw, and share your pain with the rest of us. We don't need no stinkin strategy guides in here (unless of course you collect them!)

I kind of do, yeah :( the ones that look really nice anyway. I'm so fucking annoyed at myself.

Mine has just shipped ;)

NOT HELPING

EDIT: I Twittered Future Press, they're saying all pre-orders should be filled and they're reprinting for 'all others', whatever that means.

Oh god, fuck blight town. Seriously. Fuck it right in its fucking face.

Youve no idea the relief, the groan of 'oh thank CHRIST' i let out when i found my way out of there. I didnt even make it to the end, i found my way back to the depths! I had to get out, i literally cant get past the lower blight town part as i get posoned immediately in the water. Made it back to the parish and upgraded some weapons, off to find the rusty iron ring t ohelp with poison, and then, oh god..im going back in.. :(

Immediately? Are you sure? I think I got about 5-7 seconds in the water before I got poisoned, and even then you can use one of the plants.

This is so true.

Tried a cpl of times this week to play after getting in knackered annd stressed after work and DS play does not happen, just winds you up even more.

I advise at the very least a big dinner and/or sleep.
