Does anyone here use GOG Galaxy? Is there a quick and efficient way to make folders, like on Steam? If I wanted to make a 'To Play' folder and a 'Played' folder, for example, across all my different platforms. I can tag games and filter them by the ones that are tagged, cut I can only seem to tag one game at a time.

Teleglitch is absolutely great. So unbelievably hard, but so satisfying, and one of the few games to use procedural level generation in a way that genuinely makes each level feel completely new. It should have been a phenomenon and had half a dozen sequels and expansions.

Some EA games getting delisted from GOG:

Yesterday, a member of the GOG team posted a notice that on Monday, June 28 at 1 p.m. UTC Ultima Underworld 1+2, Syndicate Plus, and Syndicate Wars would be delisted. For folks who already own the games, they will still appear in your digital library. However, after that date, it will no longer be possible to purchase the titles on GOG.

Once Monday arrives it will only be legally possible to buy these games on EA’s own Origin store. However, Syndicate Wars in particular doesn’t currently seem to be available on Origin or any other digital storefront, so soon it will become near impossible to obtain and play through official channels.

That "glorious digital future" made those games available to a larger audience in the 2010s than the no-longer-published big box PC editions, so I'm not sure it's quite so effective a comment as when they delist four year old games and the like.

Yeah, exactly. It's not like they were manufacturing new boxed copies of Syndicate and Ultima Underworld, and then they stopped because GOG had started selling it digitally. Plus, Syndicate and Ultima Underworld are still available on Origin.

Aye, but no more difficult than it would have been if it was never listed at all. Indeed, given the GOG versions are DRM free, it'll probably be easier to find a working copy than it was before (ignoring the fact all bar Wars are on Origin for the time being).

Digital revivals of old games are pretty much always a good thing. Delisting of games that were released digitally new, not so much.

It wasn't meant as a swipe at GoG, but rather just the fact that it may not be possible to get legally again once it's delisted.

Aye but GOG of all places is DRM free so pretty easy to keep the files available and working on modern hardware if not legally available for purchase

If something is delisted - you couldn't ask for a better outcome that it was sold on GOG at some point. No server or autnentication reliance that could keep you out and no physical degradation like on disc hardware - literally the best case scenario.

Yeah that's really the key here, you keep the file, you can run it on a compatible machine forever regardless of what happens to the game or GoG.

This is not true of almost all other digital games.  It's why the GoG release of Horizon was so important.

Even if it wasn't DRM free - just the fact that an otherwise hard to find disc-based game that's also extremely fiddly to run on modern PCs (most of which don't have disc drives because 2021 y'all), is a available for purchase again for a certain amount of time in digital form and updated to run on Windows 10... That alone is very welcome. The DRM free aspect is just a bonus on top of that.

Suggesting that an older game remain unavailable and incompatible is somehow a preferable scenario, is madness.

Has gog given up with doing their connect thing, the last time any games were added must be close to a couple of years now?

Gog Galaxy makes it somewhat redundant (although it was nice to get DRM free extra copies of games) so I can understand why they stopped
