Where was everyone tonight. Only 3 people where on from my friend list and they were playing rainbow six 3!

...ah well did have a few good games with random people. :huh:

Sorry, I went on for a few minutes, but since no one else was on (probably all watching ROTK, as well they should) I gave up.

Hopefully on tonight after work.Goodness knows when.

Good thing it's this addictive. I've seen people on my friendslist playing this game almost every single night since release. So when I finally get this on Christmasday, I'll at least be sure there'll be plenty of games going on. And that I'll be lagging a month of practice behind :o

Hmmm... I've had this game for a good 4 days now... But I've only played it for about 45 mins. I'm much more hooked on Topspin and Rainbow Six-3.

Maybe if I start investing some time in acquiring some fancy cars I'll be hooked... who knows :-)

I've just bought this so I'll be online within the next couple of days.

I think I'm going to go and buy myself a new Live kit, tho - my old mic is broken (and lost) and I'm fed up of my GamerTag - no-one realises it's me. So, gimme a few days, and you'll be able to watch me play pinball against the walls :o

Its horrible, tonight will be my last night on PGR2 for 2 whole weeks :o I am off to my parents for Xmas and then snowboarding from boxing day...its a disaster* To top it all off I may only be on for an hour or so, depends on how my packing goes really.

*not strictly a disaster as I shall be filling up on mince pies and hurling myself down a mountainside.

I must apologise to Alan Stock (if he's still around this place?), for not joining him on Tuesday evening.

My reasons are scarily similar to these:

Basically I've been avoiding Live until I

1) Improve my skills

2) Get my voice back once this heavy cold/flu type thing has been shifted. Don't fancy sounding like a croaky muppet! :o

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm not deliberately being an anti-social git.

Plus I wasn't planning to be on for long, because well ... two people, one XBox, you have to compromise somewhere.

Couple of q's -

1) What is this Cat and Mouse on PGR2?

2) Does anyone here mind me adding them to my friends list? Will more than likely be on PGR2 tonight if anyone wants a game...

1) Cat and mouse is a team game. one player has a mini, the other has an enzo (or similar). The minis race, and the enzos either help their partners or try to fuck the other mini up by crashing into them. Top fun.

2) fire away (gt: choccy). I work on the assumption that if anyone has it in their sig or in the list above, they're happy to be added.

Well, my first games last night (only took a day from ordering from Game)... and i have to say, firstly : great game... secondly: I hate you all

I played for an hour or two offline and only went through the first class, getting a massive total of one platinum medal, before going online and getting my ass kicked.. then getting it kicked some more... and then some more etc.

Some of this was simply not having the uber-cars unlocked, but going on to Ux's game - he of the Focus speciality is what really made he hate everyone. I hate take being shot and killed onstantly in RTCW and GR:IT, but getting spun out of 2nd place and ending up last had me shouting out insults, and general "booo's" to people.

Boooo... espesiclly to Ux, Squirtle and Hitcher - very dubious racing "techniques" indeed. When I left the game last night at about 12.10am, I had to drive 20 miles to pick my wife up from her Xmas do, which I did at 95mph gaining much Kudos on slides around the corners and even more on drafting other drivers (which seemed to panic them for somereason)

This is, however, digital crack - I'll be back on ASAP to reap my revenge*

* definition of revenge is me in 8th place shouting "you're all cheating cunts"

Did you actually make it back from that Wife-retrieval trip?

I've experienced this. Fecking nudge my back end on the straights and send me flying they do.

I like how if you're neck and neck, got a sharp corner coming up, and that if you brake late, he does too, ensuring you both go flying into the barrier and he coming off much better as the rest use you to get round the corner :ph34r:

Great game on-line and off-line.....the why did the Edge review only give it 7?

I'm not one for bitching about review scores, I know 7 is an above average mark but......I get the feeling that the person reviewing the game didn't like it, nothing concrete, just a sort of sneering (if you can sneer in written form). Why was the LIVE part of the game only mentioned in the last sentence and given exactly 5 words (or so) when this is possibly where the real longevity and sense of fun is? I suppose you could say that the amount of people who have LIVE and play this game is limited but, should you then mark a game down for this?

Everyone has probably already discussed this to death (sorry) but I just got my copy of E131 (screwed up my subscription.....which I've only had since E1??). Hey, I got a free t-shirt out of it anyway.

So....did anybody else get that feeling, or have feelings about the review?

Its hard to review a game which has online and offline aspects. Not everyone has the ability to play online so can't take the online part of the game in to consideration in a review (as much as) the offline part of the game.

If the game was solely online, the only people who play it would be people with the ability to play online so I could be reviewed as a whole game. Sorry that made sense before i tried to type it.

EDGE should review games as online and offline. For example PGR2 7/10 if you don't have live and 9/10 if you do hae live.*

*Shouldn't have been 7/10 anyway but never mind.

The only thing which pisses me off about racing online, is when your racing someone in a far superior car who could easily pass you on a straight decide to tailgate right upto the corner then use you a brake.Luckily no one from here (rllmuk) does that online. Why didn't you pass me on the God dam straight!
