Paradigm
It's all relative, there's only so many people you can fit in to the smaller places and people will pay for events they want to see. Not often the Olympics comes to your country. £30 as a base price for the final of the football is quite decent compared to a top flight game. Similarly the boxing seems well priced. Pochacco
£750 to see the men's 100m finals which will be over within 20 seconds... Bargain!
Hawkeye
Look pretty much what I expected. More interesting to see how the numbers split between the cheaper and expensive tickets are. I hope to pick up some cheap seat tickets myself. Oh, how the hell can they charge for Triathlon! It's a fricking street circuit (apart from the swim obviously). Paradigm
£750 to see the men's 100m finals which will be over within 10 seconds... EFA! Only the best seats in the house are that much, though. You don't see people talking about a director's box at a football game being representative of the rest of the seats, or that nice hotels are impossible to visit because the master suites cost a few grand. Edit: and it's not just the one event, obviously.
Girth Certificate
seems about what you'd expect, you'll be treated like ultrascum the whole time I bet, buy mcdonalds, pay with visa only, £3 for a bottle of water.
Padlocked
I'd quite like to go to the opening ceremony with my wife and (then) 4 year old son, to be honest. I'll probably be dead by the time it comes around again, and my son will around 60 if it's in the same timescales as this one. Not so fussed about the events themselves. Mr Cochese
And 125,000 tickets are being set aside to be given to schoolchildren who will have to achieve something to earn them. I'm pretty sure what they are implying here is illegal, even in certain failed states.

Hawkeye
Those prices are ourtagious Those prices are pretty normal, since it's a ticket to a stadium/venue with events running all day. Compare it with any other form of live entertainment and it's pretty standard pricing, probably even cheaper for the entry level stuff than they could get away with as it a once every four years global event. DirkCrisis
I imagine the gay who won the diving at the Commonwealth games could command quite a high price. Assuming he doesn't ruin himself prior to 2012. Thinking about it, if they could somehow combine the Olympics with some sort of Roman-style slave auction whereby you have the right to take one of the athletes home and do terrible things to them upon purchase of the more expensive tickets, then I might be tempted to spend £2,012 on a seat. Pandy
I swear it should be a lot cheaper for people that live in London? Same way the football was cheap in SA for SAfricans....
Hawkeye
This is England '12 The top prices will be exec box type setups. The only way to see what it really costs for most is to see the seating split per venue. For example: 20% Cheapest ticket 30% Next price bracket up 40% Next up again 10% Exec level boxes

Padlocked
Hey, London got all the jobs related to the billions of expenditure on it (and the South East with some of the outlying supplies). Now you want cheap tickets as well?

It should be cheaper for people who live in the UK. Or are those the discounted UK prices and the rest of the world gets bent over and screwed?
