grounded_dreams
Everyone that applied for tickets, don't forget to have enough money in your account from Monday, email sent out today: You might remember that when you applied for London 2012 Olympic Games tickets we told you that payment would be taken between 10 May and 10 June 2011. We can now confirm that money will start to be debited from accounts from 16 May 2011. Please ensure that from Monday you have sufficient funds to pay for any tickets you are allocated, whether you applied using a Visa credit or debit card, or by cheque. shock33
I read a report on the bbc that if you don't have enough, they'll call you and offer you one chance to pay by another means if the original one fails.
JohnC
So they will charge you for unknown tickets at a random date within a month? What genius thought this up? If it wasn't so well publicised as being an official Olympics thing, it would reek of scam.
Ork1927
It is bloody stupid - Ive ordered tickets for football in Cardiff and in some cases may end up going on my own as I couldnt risk being lumbered with loads of pairs of tickets when my mates were also applying for some. Oh well - if I do go on my own it'll be cool sitting with people from all around the world - Swansea, Bristol, Gloucester, Newport
Yiggy
So when they charge you I wonder if they send an e-mail out confirming it. In which case I assume that e-mail would state WHICH tickets you have been charged for? Someone told me this was not the case but if not it really does seem absurd. It'd apparently be "too difficult" to tell people what tickets they'd got, at the same time as charging them for the tickets they've got. Which makes you wonder about their IT systems. Yiggy
Enter the ridiculous situation where you have to use math to work out which tickets you have been charged for given your total charge. I knew I should have paid attention in algebra.

Too late I know, but you are able to sell back any tickets you don't want.

Yiggy
No way of checking mine online but I am dying to know how much I have been charged to work out what tickets I have. I am betting on getting my tickets to the early rounds of the male gymnastics and that'll be all.
Yiggy
Not had anything go out yet. Its all gone deathly quiet. Anybody heard of anybody who had had money taken out? Obviously everyone is interested in the ratio of number applied for vs the number obtained.
MrPogo
I've seen others suggest that it won't necessarily be taken all at once anyway, and they may take the money for one event today, another tomorrow and then some more in a fortnight.

glb
Anyone had £ taken from their account yet? Its starting today, nothing for my application yet. The balance on my CC is lower, so something has come off. The amount is about a fifth of the total amount I applied for, just hope I got lucky with athletics (applied for four different days). JohnC
It's simple really. You didn't have to have a Visa card.

shock33
So they might actually start taking the money now (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13545116) Locog said 60% of cards would be debited by midnight on Wednesday, the "vast majority" by 31 May, and the process completed by 10 June and if you've cancelled the card or there's a problem: The e-mail said Visa payments would only be taken for successful applications, and that if cards had been lost or stolen, or there were any issues with collection of payment, applicants would be contacted about it by 10 June

glb
Got an SMS alert saying my card has been charged around £35 by London Ticketing. Cheapest tickets I applied for were singles for the boxing (£30) and a football quarter-final (£20). Also bought an official programme (£10), so if that's been charged at the same time as the ticket then I guess I'll be off to Wembley. If the game is terrible I can always read the programme from cover to cover.

I was charged for three quarter final tickets - didn't really expect to get the other tickets I'd applied for, but gf's card hasn't been charged for anything yet... Me neither, mainly applied for athletics and cycling so getting them is a long shot. Still, here's hoping the charges are being made per event, and the undersubscribed ones are being sorted quicker than the oversubscribed tickets. Hello Goaty ♥
First we'll know of it is an email, which im still waiting for! although theyve been swift enough to mail out the adverts for the warm-up events later in the year...
Farley
My visa card is showing a transaction, haven't put anything else on it so probably cool for tickets. Looks like we got two of the cheap tickets we applied for - they're probably for completely different events, and a different thing again for the baby's ticket.
