I'm surprised this thread keeps going strong for as long as it has, since this game is so incredibly forgettable...

Priiiiiick ;)

Still loving this, been working my way through each mountain getting gold on all tracks before moving on. Currently on 96 medals so doing ok. Still finding some tracks infuriating but others absolutely magical.

Gonna pick up the DLC soon too.

I was so close to taking that back from you yesterday, but I didn't have a wingsuit equiped for the final drop, so you pipped me at the line.

Should be able to sneak back in front next time ;)

So I beat SeeSee64's time on JT2 by around 0.5 seconds. Then I thought I'd give it another go, and promptly knocked another 1.5 seconds off my new best. Except when the leaderboard was displayed he was only a few tenths of a second behind because he was playing the same track at the same time and had just beaten my previous best. I sent a cheeky " ;)" message and went to make a cup of tea before sitting down to watch some TV, only to return 10 minutes later and discover he's knocked another 1.6 seconds off my time. Noooooooooo!!!!!!

That was tremendous. The first time I beat your record I returned to the Explore screen to see a little message pop up saying 'R0GUESTAR has beaten your time on JT2 1 second ago'. My girlfriend then told me that I really shouldn't use language like that and I promptly got my head down and dived back in which is when you must have popped off for your cuppa!

Which characters does everyone use? I always go for Alex with her glowing suit which gives you a Tricky bonus. I've not given anyone else much of a go, apart from brief dabbles with them in the story mode.

I'm using retro Eddie, at level 10 with the standard suit (confers no bonuses but looks cool as).

If I'd had the time last night I would have tried to beat you, so I'll have to have another go over the weekend. I played JT2 in a global event a few weeks back, and the top time was something like 1:29, so there's obviously scope to go much faster, somewhere. Just gotta work out where

Good news for PS3 owners:

A free update for SSX which introduces multiple new game modes and bug fixes is available to download now via PlayStation Network.

The update, which brings SSX to V3.0, adds two new game modes: Freeplay, a new mode which lets players race down a mountain without any rules or regulations; and 3-2-1-Go! Events, which let up to 5 riders compete online simultaneously in fast paced Trick It and Race It Heats.

"In [3-2-1-Go!] events, the helicopter acts as your lobby," reads a post from PlayStation Europe's community manager 'Envisager' on the PlayStation forums.

"After joining 3-2-1-GO! Event you will be taken to the top of the drop, where you will then wait in the helicopter for other riders to join. As soon as at least one more rider shows up, you can choose to buy into the event and ready-up!

"Once at least two riders have readied, a countdown timer will begin, and when it reaches zero the heat will start with all riders jumping out together for a single trip down the mountain with no restarts.

"Once everyone makes it down to the bottom, the event ends and everyone collects their credit rewards. You are then given the option to return back to the top or follow a RiderNet recommendation to another 3-2-1-GO Event."

Simultaneous multiplayer has been one of the most-frequently requested additions to SSX since its launch back in February. The original release only featured asynchronous multiplayer.

Freeride mode, meanwhile, lets players "explore your surroundings at your own pace and with your own style".

"Once you've reached the bottom, the helicopter will be waiting to take you back to do it all again. Ride for as long as you like and enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery found in the world of SSX."

Multiple fixes and improvements to the game are also included in the update, including a new 'SSX Update' feature which notifies users of any future updates and fixes.

It's not currently known when the update will be available to download via Xbox LIVE.

I still haven't got the game myself, but that seems pretty generous for a freebie. :)
