Hi,

I have just picked up the third Edge Retro edition. It has a yeloow cover and is the standard £5 charge.

On first inspection it is a collection of the retro specials from the mag,

Vectrex, C64, Famicom,Amiga,PC Engine, neoGeo,Megadrive,SNES,Saturn. It also has a price guide with mention of Droos cornering of the megajet market with the syndicate from the Edge forum.

It mentions the MegaJet bulk buy :D . I started that, I did. But Droo did all the hard work.

I suppose I'll have to buy it now!

All that's new is an Amiga and NES collectors feature and added missing pictures to the previous features. Also all the prices seem to be updated and are more realistic to current market prices. Oh, and a hardware price guide in the back.

Worth a fiver to a regular Edge reader? No, just like the last Retro Special.

I really want that Sonic CD clock!!! :D

And I bought one of those MegaJets ;)

See now if someone had of told me there'd one day be an Edge article about it I wouldn't have passed up on the opportunity!

(and just out of interest what was the final end cost per unit?)

I think it was £46. A bit of a bargain.

Well it's a pleasant shade of yellow and it was good to see the C64 in there, but deeply depressing to see no Spectrum or Amstrad content. For a fiver I'd have expected in-depth coverage of those two formats, particularly the Spectrum as it was a little bigger than the C64 in the UK.

Still, if the rumours are right there could be better news ahead for retro enthusiasts next year with the launch of a new publication. No longer will we have to put up with this nonsense! It's time we celebrated all formats rather than promoting a favoured few and dismissing the rest in the way that Edge seems to do.

Where a (extremely ignorant or hopefully kidding) moderator of this very forum insults Gary Lucken in a blatent and unfunny way to his face, and I try to stay positive about the magazine  :P

mummy mummy the nasty man said bad things!

:P

I'm just pleased to learn that saying something on an internet forum means saying something to someone's face.
