How come Sony have released all this information before their conference? You'd think they'd want it kept quiet until then

Isn't all this info quite old anyway, the PR event was held in London back on the 19th of May, they must feel there is still enough good stuff left for the E3 talk to let all this stuff go out pre-E3.

It's that or Project Café really will bring it :)

Well, games like that Mak game and Little Deviants as well as the whole PS Suite show that the Vita isn't just for those kind of games. Though to be fair, I think both Uncharted and Wipeout look like great titles. Best of both worlds and it seems the thing is very capable of standing up to its big brother.

I wish I could play Uncharted during train or plane trips and now I can. You could do worse with the launch line-up than this, much more appealing than the 3DS one for me.

Well, I don't hold out much hope for the Mak game because Everyday Shooter is bloody terrible, and that Little Deviants game doesn't look any better. But I'm sure that interesting and well made games will be made for the system. It's just that we all know that Sony made a mistake with the PSP in promoting it as "a PS2 in your hands!", and I don't think anyone really thought that the problem was that it wasn't a PS3.

Sure, the 3DS has its faults, but ultimately it does have a unique feature over TV gaming, is small enough to fit in a pocket, and while the current games might not be up to much, all indications are that it will follow a similar software route to the DS, which means a lot of portable-friendly games.

Well, to me a good game is a good game, whether it's small or bigger. I thought some of the best games on the PSP were based on PS2/3 franchises, like the GoW games, Daxter and Peace Walker. From the looks of it, this will have bigger games, apps and more quirky titels that seem tailor made for it. I'll probably get a good hands-on at E3 with the thing next week, looking forward to that.

thats not saying much. Taking a turd in the face whilst you're being butt raped by pygmies is more appealing than the 3DS's launch line up

Agreed that the 3DS launch line-up isn't all that, but l really like what l've seen of Wipeout and Uncharted regardless.

Everyday shooter terrible?

Think not.

This looks to be an amazing little wonder.

And all this talk of poor game line ups, whatever you think, you still get an instant catalog of games anyway don't you?

With that online flash alike system or whatever it is it can run.

i don't think they could make a worse launch line up if they tried, it would be a challenge. You have to give it to Nintendo they've certainly mastered the art of shit launch line ups

I'm really back and forth on this one... On the one hand the tech looks amazing, the software lineup already is more interesting to me than the 3DS and potentially having every PSP title available (and enhanced) to buy is a pretty good start...

On the other hand.. I bought my PSP soon after launch while I was in the USA with a few games and then, as it was almost instantly hacked, started messing about with it to try emulated arcade games on.

So I ended up never buying another game for it as I'd have had to keep repatching the firmware.. And then stopped using it altogether..

As it is I think it's still on the 1.5 firmware now.. Never bothered even pirating anything as most games kept forcing new firmware, so there will be a decent catalogue of stuff I've not played to try on the new machine..

That is, if you're willing to trust PSN with your information...

If the price isn't too crazy, it'll be hard to resist.. Be interesting to see just how close the games could be to the HD consoles.. If the Wii2/Cafe is also of comparable welly, we could be getting virtually identical versions of games across 4 or 5 platforms soon...

Geez... comparison/arguments over the 'best' version are going to get even more insane!

Unless its ridiculously expensive (more than £300), which apparently it won't be, I'll definitely be getting one.

Its not that I'm not satisfied (more than satisfied) with the 3DS and its lineup, but the games on this look to offer different experiences...to be honest all they really have to do is stick another Everybodys Golf on the thing and I'm sold.

Clever move by Sony (now all the Vita needs is a UMD drive)

I'd settle for a way of ripping my UMD games onto a memory stick. Or an exchange program, send Sony your UMD games and they add them to your account as digital games.

I very much doubt it'll happen, but its the kind of thing that would get them quite a few extra sales I think.

I hate to say it but personally I'd imagine the security measures would stop that. They'd never allow anything that could be used as a back door to ripping games - allowing it would potentially open a massive hole.

Well yeah, which is why I suggested the exchange option instead. It'd probably be a bit of a headache to setup and just as likely wouldn't be worth the hassle for Sony, but it'd be welcomed I think by a lot of PSP owners.

I really hope they keep this secure, though it's Sony so I'm not holding my breath. Not being a pirate myself, I have no desire to see all the third party developers scared off by a bunch of freeloading pricks who won't pay for software. Piracy might have driven hardware sales of the PSP but it played a big part in destroying developer enthusiasm for the platform. The attach rate was laughable, wasn't it?

Outside of Japan, software really drought up. That said, the titles that did come out for it last year like Peace Walker, Ghost of Sparta and Kingdom Hearts sold well.

The last 18 months have seen some top quality titles come out. PSP actually has a very nice library of games.

I totally agree. Just saying that western software drought up over the years, but the titles that did come out were often pretty good. Some of the Minis are ace too. It's definitely an underrated system.

Yeah, I was actually backing up your post, rather than debating it. Sorry for confusion :D

The PSP has to be one of the best consoles if you are into RPGs.

Recently I've bought FFIV, Persona 3P, Ys7 and Ys Felghana, Trails in the Sky, Tactics Ogre.
