Playstation Vita

Can any of you see there being a redesign or price-cut on the Vita in the coming days or weeks? After yesterday's impressive PlayStation 4 showing, and after hearing so much about PS+ and how good it is, I'm severely tempted to get one. Especially if all PS4 games will have some sort of remote play functionality.

I'd say it's unlikely in the short term.

Price cut: if there was one coming, you'd have expected it to have been announced yesterday

New model: the manufacturing push must be on to get PS4 launched globally this year. I'm not sure they'd want to take on promoting and producing another new machine at the same time

Placed a order for a Vita Today, thanks to PS+ I have a few games to play but what else should I pick up?

Looking for a cheap vita memory card (Ouch they are expensive).

Yeah, Persona 4 Golden is the best of the non PS+ games I think.

They currently are having a PSP sale so you can buy each of the PSP God of War games for £2.50 each, and later this month the Jak and Daxter HD collection is coming out (all 3 games).

Signing up to PS+ now gets you Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Rayman Origins, Sine Mora, Velocity Ultra with next months games being announced either this week or next (the latter two will be replaced).

I just rebought a Vita after selling my Australian one when I moved back to the UK. Cost me £108 delivered from Ebay and it was new with a 4gb memory card (I still had my 16gb left over, just put it in and it worked fine) an official case and Fifa 13 (download code). There are some bargains to be had on Ebay. I paid a little bit extra to get a new one. Game are selling preowned ones for £95 (or they were, I think it's still that price).

Dead or Alive 5+ is pretty much the best portable fighter on a handheld. The quality of it is insane.

Atelier Totori's one hell of a download as well. Beautiful, but might not be to everyone's RPG tastes - I found it completely refreshing and utterly charming.

PSP games go for a song - Ghost of Sparta is currently £2.50.

Everybody's Golf and Persona 4 are neat, as mentioned.

Virtua Tennis 4 was £5 at Game, may still be, and it's pretty damn substantial.

Loads of options, really.

Persona 4 Golden. JRPGing without the fun removed.

Has VLR been taken off PS+ yet? I know that has its fans (and it's also on 3DS...)

I've not seen any PSP stuff at all (barring better discounts on sale stuff) though I think someone said it does happen occasionally? Depending on how soon you plan on getting those systems though it might actually be worth getting PS+ and building a library in advance, as mental as that might sound on the face of it.

Got Blazblue this morning and had a little exploratory go at it having never played the series before. I'm absolutely amazed by how good the D-pad is for fighters, I've been having the odd casual bash of SSFIVAE on PS3 using my USB Saturn pad and I'm actually hitting the same motions way more consistently on the Vita :o

Is their much PSP content on PS+ ?

Just have a PSP at the moment, and will be getting one/many of Vita/PS3/PS4 down the road. Any point to signing up to PS+ with just a PSP ?

I don't think there are any PSP freebies. Discounts, maybe. But no, it wouldn't be worth it for just a PSP.

The PS3 has the worst pad I've ever used for a fighter. The Vita handles it so well in all its fighters, it's amazing they come from the sane company.

If the remote play / PS4 stuff is really going to take off & be a serious feature, ie being able to play all full console games then it simply has to have a hardware redesign to include the triggers.

Otherwise it will be a big waste of time, I can't think of anything better than being able to play things like Dark Souls 2 on the tv then switch to the Vita & back but it just wouldn't work without the triggers.

If they are struggling for space then they can get rid of the rear touchscreen, I certainly wouldn't miss it.

Yeah, the PS3 one isn't great. I'm amazed I'm preferring the Vita to my Saturn pad though.

So so tempted by a vita now i'm fully #teamSony ! Walking dead bundle sounds good so might wait for that.

Could I sign up to psn+ now and start building a library of games? Or doesn't it work like that?

It works exactly like that. You can "buy" the games on the website for 0.00 and it will stay on your account until you get a vita (and available to play while you're a subscriber)
