It's a red band trailer and as such seems to go on forever but it does mean we get to see some Natalie Portman arse.

Danny McBride putting on an English accent is hilarious to me and hopefully James 'I have no idea where he finds the time' Franco isn't just the straight man in this because I thought he was extremely funny in Pineapple Express.

That trailer looks terrible, but then the trailers for all these films make them look terrible, and then they turn out to be much better than expected. So it might be all right. Still, it is apparently stuffed with American actors doing terrible English accents, which is fairly insulting.

Made me cringe inside - so American actors playing medieval characters saying fuck and arse makes it funny? That seems to be what the writer/ director seem to think. Just comes across as trying desperately hard.

Pineapple Express also had that awkward combination of unfunny leading man with thin/not that funny material and was switched off after half an hour.

It's not medieval, it's fantasy. That's why all the castles they visit are already ruined like how they are in real life now.

Oh, it's a fantasy film....ahhh, gotcha.

(Must have been the multi-headed serpent beast that gave it away).

You're going to be telling me some of those castle interiors are film sets next....

Oh I'm sorry Van, what did you expect it to deliver? What I set out to achieve was for people to offer opinions on the topic. you have not done so. Therefore the reason the thread does not deliver, is because you haven't done what the thread required in the first place in order to 'deliver'. so whilst my first post may be ropey, at best, your first comment in this thread 'fails to deliver'.

You'll get raked over the coals for a bit but as soon as people realise you're a female who likes remotely similar things to them you'll be revered and celebrated to the extent that it will quickly seem quite creepy. I would advise staying out of the 'Are you hot or not?' thread.

No, what she might get dragged over the coals for is when people figure out she works in marketing and is in some way involved in doing the PR at least for this film by working popular boards, but has tried to hide it.

I don't take issue with marketing the film. I take issue with the coy attempt to try and hide that it's anything but and that littlelegs hasn't been completely up-front about it.

Being involved in the marketing for films, tv shows, other fluff isn't something that's going to cause people to be hostile around these parts - there are plenty of people who are involved in the various industries covered by rllmuk for that, but they're all honest about their involvement in various projects.

The best bet is for littlelegs to be completely honest about her involvement with whichever firm it is she's working for then to use that position to get things like early access to trailers for board members, promo gifts and competitions, advance screenings etc whilst participating in honest and friendly discussion in threads related to stuff she isn't trying to flog.

Also, nice burn on Van :D

As for the film, ughhh.

I'm a red-blooded male. I can happily stare at Natalie Portman's arse for two hours (Maybe Idiocracy wasn't far off the mark - a film that involves staring at Natalie Portman's arse for two hours should obviously win every Oscar going). This film won't be that.

Ha ha!! I'm sorry to ruin your theory, D'Artagnan but I am not in marketing I'm afraid, I work in fashion (zzz) and only joined this forum because my friend kept showing me pictures from the 'Pictures that make you laugh' thread and I wanted to get in there first. Petty, I know but now I'm quite enjoying myself. Thanks for the conspiracy theory though, it's best :ph34r:
