Went to buy Circe, found out I already have it AND Song of Achilles . I will move them to the top of my reading list!

That happens to me an embarrassing number of times. I did it once with a £75 medical textbook, got it home to find I had the last edition which had a different cover .

Ooooh - what kind of book is this?  Is it part of a series or a standalone?  (Not heard of either)

They are standalone,  although share a similar topic of Greek mythology.  Circe is a Nymph Goddess in the pantheon of Greek God's.  All of this sounds quite pretentious but like Song of Achilles it is beautifully written and the author has an MA in the classics which elevates her books far above other recent Greek retellings such as Women of Troy etc

I might have accidentally ordered a Kindle Scribe. Not because I need to take a lot of notes. Just because I quite fancy the idea of a 10 inch eink screen for reading sci-fi on. Will report back on Saturday when it arrives. I've just started Children of Memory.

Look forward to hearing your impressions.  I have images of using one to take notes at work, but I know I'm just kidding myself and also want to try out a nice big e-ink reader :)

Out of the gate before it arrives I'm very sad it doesn't have physical page turn buttons. A friend of mine bought one and he said the actual writing was very good. No lag and it felt like writing on paper. Apparently he found editing afterwards a bit of a chore.

I'll be focusing on how good it is as a reading device.

Did you consider the Remarkable device that I get endless ads for? I saw someone using it recently and it seemed pretty slick.

At one point yes but I'm fully embedded in the Kindle ecosystem for my reading.

I've just done the same 😀

EDIT: Ordered a Scribe, not started Children of Memory

Early impressions of the Scribe. Out of the box it looks and feels premium. Metal case. Solid but very light. The screen for text and simple images is just flawless. UI is still as slow as ever but for reading it's lovely. Shame it's lacking page turn buttons but maybe they'll come back for a future Scribe Oasis :) Writing is smooth and flawless though. I wrote "Stupid cunts" on the screen and it felt great. I may draw a crude spunking penis later.

Your link that looks like hotukdeals redirects to rllmuk. It’s grand, Fry popped up the right one.

Related thing - I remember doing this deal stuff before but I don’t remember actually getting the voucher. I spent £15 on wishlist books, when do I get a voucher?
