The entire line of Gatecrash has been released. I don't know whether its fatigue - likely as I've spent a lot of time and money on Magic over the last few months, far more than I imagined I would when I first got involved in August - or ignorance but I'm incredibly unimpressed so far. I know, I know, it's the standard position for us Magic-playing fucks but so far the Ravnica block seems to serve Limited over Constructed. Neither has the lore of it all caught me like Innistrad did.

I'm booked into the pre-release, but only two of my friends are booked into the same day so it'll be a quieter affair than the last. I'm tempted to let over. £24 would go a long way to getting Quarriors instead.

Looking forward to the weekend! Would be happy with any of the guilds to be honest! I'm playing @ Manaleak in Worcester. Will probably go Boros on Saturday so I can splash green or black depending on the luck of the draw. Quite fancy Gruul, with Bloohrush so might do that Sunday.

~58 players, Boros is BEAST! Went 5-1, losing to another Boros deck. Came 5th - very happy with my performance.

Truefire Paladin is an awesome card, as is the Boros charm.

One poor chap - Attacked with an 3/2 Assault Griffin, played a bloodrushed Scorchwalker to make it 8/3 and then gave it double strike with Boros charm - 16damage boom!

Thats insane!! I imagine the boros promo rare dude ended a few games too?

Didn't see him that much unfortunately. (But not that I really needed it really!). Bloodrush is an amazing mechanic though. The Boros deck that beat me had a Frontline Medic, which is ace - Battalion - swing with 3 creatures and all your guys are indestructible for that turn. Crazy card that obliterated my field.

Fruity tech also when I 'Homing Lightning'd my own Boros Reckoner to bounce damage onto my opponent for the game. Love realising stuff like that mid-game

Match 4 played against a nice Orzhov deck. Best match of the lot. Real tight, could have gone any way. Lost the first one. Had two Knight of Obligation which kept me in it with Extort. Then, last one, he was on 4, swing with 3/2 griffin, down to 1, play 2 mana goblin with extort off Knight to drain 1 life for the win .

Might try Orzhov tomorrow. Or Grull.

Aggro definitely suits my simple style, and it think they are stronger in this set than Dimir or Simic.

Went 4-1 on Sunday with Gruul. Came third. Didn't think this deck was as good as Saturday, but did alright! Won seven packs (plus five on Saturday). Chuffed. My best limited results ever. Nothing complicated, just make guys, attack, kill. Suits my play style and ability

Will be interesting to see how I get on next weekend when no guildpacks involved. Will be trying to force aggro I think!

Turned on MTGO for the first time in ages last week, found a place where you can buy all the 4 x all commons for RTR for $7 etc. Slowly building my commons collection up.

I'm currently only playing Pauper. Found a fun Black dredge list, so i've been experimenting with that. Biggest issue i've got is I only play in the 'just for fun' section and theres no sideboard. Bad matchup is bad matchup

Grand Prix London this weekend. I'm not going but a bunch of friends are; one of them mentioned on Twitter earlier that there have been approximately 1,500 people pre- register for the event.

Could potentially be a 2,000 person event - absolutely terrifying. Best of luck to any of you guys who are making the trip!

It was great fun. Alas, I peaked too soon, going 4-0 in the fun foil Friday event then going 2-4drop in the main event on the Saturday. I'd recommend the experience to any Magic player. Lots of trading, drafting, cube drafting (inc back on the hotel on the Sat night!)

Anyone played Momir on MTGO? decklist is 60 lands and Momir as an avatar. play lands for x, sacrifice a permanant and it gives you a random character for that x mana.

Bonkers but fun. And you only need to buy the momir card for $12 and thats it!

Draft one as awful and i one a booster

Crafted a cool black white deck second time around with multiple white tappers and an alms beast. Won two packs.

Its a tough format to get your head around and boros seems ridiculos.

I've drafted it once and ended up in Boros/Orzhov... Battalion really encourages you to be aggressive. Frontline Medic did horrible things to my opponents until they were able to find a way to deal with it.

Having spent the last few months engrossing myself in Standard and seeing the latest palaver with the price of Boros Reckoner, as well as a declining attendance of, how should I say, normal people at the nights, I'm feeling a little burnt out with Magic at the moment. So I'm looking to offload some cards there aren't doing anything for me at the moment. I've four Huntmaster of the Fells and two Bonfire of the Damned, if anyone else fancies getting in on it.

Yeah, been keeping an eye on it over the weekend. Current game is one player trying to cast Blasphemous Act (deal 13 to each creature) with both players having a Boros Reckoner in play. The reckoners will trigger and each player can point the 13 damage that it would deal at their opponent, but the player NOT casting Blasphemous Act will get to choose where the damage goes first, so the player casting Blasphemous Act also can't go below 13 life else he'll die to his opponent's Reckoner before his resolves.

Well in Tom Martell. Always liked him since he filled in (for LSV) on Channel Fireball TV as pundit. Recently he's moved to SCG (prob something to do with the TSG situ).

Fantastic streaming coverage from Wizards - really getting the hang of it. LSV in the booth was great.

Couple of rule clarifications...

If a creature already has an enchantment, can you cast another enchantment on it? And does this one cause the old one to go to its owners graveyard?

If a red card says "receives +1+1 for each red permanent you control" do you count the card itself?

Can creatures' abilities be used at any time? Or are they like sorceries?

Some creatures have abilities that say "pay 1 white to do X" - in this case, do the creatures get tapped when you use the ability? They don't always have a "tap" symbol. If they don't get tapped, can you use the ability multiple times in one turn as long as you can pay the cost?

You can cost multiple enchantments on creatures, they dont go to graveyard. Not usually advised as you can be two/three or even four for oned.

Yes it should include the card, otherwise it would say each other permanent.

Creature abilities can be used any time, they'll say if there is a restriction.

You can use the ability any time unless it has the tap single. So a card that says pay red/white/colourous to give creatures +1 until end of turn can be used as many times as you have the mana.

I tried 3x sealed deck pre-release games with Dimir, Orzhov, and Boros. My first bash at this kind of thing.

I sucked with the first two and then took the piss with Boros. I managed to get a Ghost Council card in one of the packs which was nice, as well as a foil 'Godless Shrine' which I traded for some non-foil 'Overgrown Tombs' and a 'Watery Grave'.

These days with Standard I'm still using my UR Storm Guttersnipe/Curiosity, Green Graveyard with Harvest draw, and working on a budget 'Door to Nothingness' deck with a mill SB. I might look at this Momir. I've took a liking to these gimmicky decks after playing with the 'Mana Mastery' deck on DotPW.

Sorry man, no such luck. I only acquired the others as I was planning to go Jund for my next deck. Little did I know I'd turn into a whiny little fuck about the whole thing.
