Cane and Rinse episode on this has just come out. It's a belter of a show and they're releasing an extra episode tomorrow - an interview with James Chen, I believe. I've fired it up again recently and I just adore the feeling of this damn game. It's in my blood. I know joffo has mentioned it but just imagine if it came to Switch and gave the online community a shot in the arm. I'm dreaming but, you know, why not dream a little?

I've been listening to that Cane and Rinse episode in chunks. It is making me very nostalgic.

I'd be very, very up for a Switch post of USFIV. Online matches will likely be laggy more often than not due to additional accessories being required to play wired on Switch but it would be wonderful to see the best game populated again.

It's a shame it isn't likely to see further refinement ever (despite us now passing the 10th anniversary of SFIV's console debut :o) because I'd love things like quick rematch online, best of 3 in Ranked, offline KoF-style team battle and the wealth of training options SFV had. I'd prefer an overhaul of the netcode to be rollback based rather than variable input delay too. With cross-platform play. And a proper Wario moustache for Dudley's yellow and purple costume.

I'll happily fork out for exactly the same game all over again, of course.

This thread. This game.

I noticed @JLM in and Endless lobby the other night, and I thought about plugging the stick in and joining that there lobby, but then the flashbacks kicked in and I did not plug the stick in and I did not join that there lobby. I am regret, kind of.

Here's the aforementioned flashback:

Check out the mashing, though.

I still play almost daily. PS4 is still lively enough, though it's a shame Steam has gone quiet as it's a better version of the game.

Offline sessions are still a big thing at the moment too, we just have to work at it these days. There was an amazing session at Hadoshrooms' house late last year with NevBamshew, Miligano, BigFool, White Daigo, Super Squaddy and other familiar old faces in attendance.

Our team got second at Rival Scenes last month too, coming second to Miligano and BigFool's team. Was amazing to see all the old heads back out for SF4. We also had a 14 man house session last Saturday with everyone traveling to Leeds to play sets until 4AM. It would have been 15 but Uchiha Strider said he'd only attend if there would also be a SFV set up and he was denied. ;)

I'm very fortunate to have a local monthly that still runs the game and enough people in my city and the surrounding areas to never be short of games/sessions, though a big part of it has been having the determination to keep running the game and to keep going on about it on social media until people listened and showed up. What's been great is that we've found a couple of people who only picked the game up right towards the end of the game's life and managed to get them to venture out to offline sessions too. Any time we find a UK player who is keen to play and doesn't send any rage mail we try and see if we can get them to attend a session or come to SFO.

The USF4 Revival Group on Facebook has been a big help too.

If anyone wants to play online on Steam, PS4 or 360 at any point I'm always still down for games. It is still the best game.

I forgot all about teleport cancels into Ultra 2. So good.

Let's arrange a big lobby sometime!

At the peak of Friday lobby hype I loved the SFIV games, but eventually I got distracted by Shiny New Things. Even now I end up dropping SFV for DB FighterZ, and then ditch that for 3S on the Anniversary Collection. :)

I do have Ultra IV on PC and PS4 if there's ever a revival, as well as the PS4's Anniversary Collection.

Had a quick go on this again tonight (though PSN went down for a bit). Got a wee legendary taunt finish so that was pretty nice.

I also lost several games in a row to an A Rank Blanka who, as far as I could tell, wasn't genuinely good. Eventually I decided to focus (!) on blocking and jab-checking Blanka balls. I didn't bother teching throws at all to avoid getting blown up. Caught them repeatedly on wakeup with the tip of cr.mk which is good because it beats electricity clean but extra good in that it causes EX Upball to whiff (for a full punish).

It was nice to win comfortably by being extra lame.

The netcode though. It's rougher than I remember.

do you still have this anywhere?

Sadly not :( I think at the time someone reassured me that it would be captured and preserved on an official channel somewhere?

Would it be buried in the CapcomFighters vod archive maybe?

EDIT: Donut ftw \o/

And @Lyrical Donut delivers   I was rummaging through years of videos and just found that clip. Yay for official archives. :)

Still clinging onto it in Leeds. Still have monthly house sessions with guests travelling from all over the place. Last time we had BigFool, Miligano, NevBamshew and Hadoshrooms amongst others. Also PIE Sci was there, which was completely surreal to me. He lives in London now. It was like being on a Team Spooky stream.

I do hope we can arrange some kind of reunion with all the threadmans, I miss this thread too.
