I've just got home from work to find this little gem sitting on the doormat. Open the envelope to find... A free CD! Full of classic game clips / adverts. Not had a chance to read it yet but after the high quality and alternative subject matter of the past issues its going to be good. So thanks blessed team, a christmas present come early

Glad you like it. It took a while to burn all the discs, but we think it's worth it. Don't forget to let us know what you think.

I'm thinking my postmen are morons/thieving fucks.

I live in london fercrissakes! I should get them before everyone else in the world!

Any reason for the long delay between six and seven?

The CD slowed things down a touch. But just a touch. The rest was down to slight burnout (we've all - there are three of us now - got 'proper' games related jobs, so its tough to keep games-wise enthusiastic 24:7, as the potentially jaded-sounding centre spread seems to testify) and general busy-ness.

Back now, though. And sexier than ever! (www.blessedmagazine.com for the uninitiated)

Are you in a mood?

No. The freebie/contributors list just went out separately.

It's lovely as ever with Crashlander and O-Man up to the usual high standards, Utopia Project is a bit weak though. But, yes I've got too much time on my hands and have read just about all of it already... Also topped up my sub, shouldn't there have been reminders sent out?

My copy arrived this morning, no CD unfortunately.

Looking forward to a closer look during lunch.

Damn. That one must've slipped through. PM me your name/address and I'll send you a CD. There's even a space to stick it into the mag and some tape on the back to affix it with.

Is there any way of getting hold of back issues? I'm thinking of getting a sub, but what with it being early days for the mag it'd be a shame not to have the full set (i'm a sucker for collecting stuff :D ). So yea, can i pay up for some back issues then?

Cheers!

Sorry, no back issues available at the moment, but there is some good content on the site, which we'll update soon. And people subscribing now will start with #8 I'm afraid, as all #7s have now gone out (foreign subscribers and all). If anyone has CD problems or any other questions at all, feel free to email on mail@blessedmagazine.com

Read a couple of articles today at lunchtime. I'm surprised I received mine so soon considering I live overseas (only Gibraltarian subscriber, I'll bet :D.

Crashlander's great, the Wario Ware article is brill, though perhaps a little over-enthusiastic (someone will no doubt claim it's impossible to be over-enthusiastic over WW, but whatever), and that Love Will Tear Us Apart piece was a real downer, but very well-written. Felt really strange reading it, considering I live in a small town and there was a shop just opposite with Xmas carols playing really loudly. 8)

Looking forward to reading the rest and checking out that CD.

Well, I have to say right from the start that I found this issue a little disappointing. Not from a quality standpoint, but in terms of content.

Previously, Blessed has shone a light into my murky, dwindling enthusiasm for gaming and fired me up in one way or another. Each issue was celebratory - without being overly chirpy, with a nice line in sarcastic wit. Michael is definitely right in describing this issue as a 'find interesting' rather than an 'enjoy' moment.

It's hard not to link the overall negative theme of the issue with the recent events at Edge, and indeed a couple of the articles take a look at the state of videogame journalism. Everything's well argued and presented - I can't fault the professionalism on display in the writing, it's just that the majority of the articles themselves aren't appealing to me this time around.

There are still entertaining high points of course, though these mainly come from the comic strips and the perceptive look at Wario Ware.

Blessed is a little oasis of colour in the increasingly jaded gaming world. Something I gleefully open up every time it pops onto my doormat. I read enough doom and gloom about the industry elsewhere, and Blessed usually gives me a break from that, gives me a bunch of people sharing their love of this pastime of ours.

I guess the negatives have to be covered though. Any mag worth it's salt would cover these issues and more, it just feels like the whole issue is a bit of a downer this time. Hopefully it's all out of your systems for a bit now ^_^

This sounds like such a negative appraisal, but for those pondering whether to plump for a subscription - don't worry. Blessed is a smashing little mag with a lot going for it. Hopefully by the time the next issue rolls around the fun and enthusiasm will be back in force. This issue was of the same high quality as always, but it didn't make me want to go off and play the hell out of some games the way previous ones have.

Sorry to dwell on all that. It is just my own preference of what I like to read about, and doubtless other people will appreciate the topics of the issue much more than I. The CD is a super bonus, very unexpected and welcome.
