I think the graphical update is lovely; especially the upgrade to Link's model but mostly because the pre-rendered scenes are now going to be in real-time to facilitate the 3D lovliness of it all. Hyrule Market in it's old guise looked dated even then.

I'm looking forward to this far more than I should considering I've finished the game with all heart pieces and skulltullas so many times now that re-playing it feels more like work than play. I'll likely do that thing where I take everything really slowly, pretend I've never played it before and try to convince myself every new moment is a fresh surprise.

Also, I'm really forward to seeing how the brilliant sine-wave animation of the Magic Bean Salesman's chewing mouth looks now IN THREE DEE.

I recently had a bit of a realisation about Ocarina of Time. The story makes no sense: after Link pulls out the Master Sword, Rauru immediately transports him to his adult self. Why did he do this? It makes no difference to Rauru, or anyone else, they still have to wait seven years and put up with Gannondorf. Instead of honing his skills and shit for years, Link is exactly the same as he was before. Which means:

"Adult" Link is a seventeen year-old body with the mind of a ten year-old.

Adult Link is functionally mentally disabled.

Weren't they protecting him from Ganondorf, knowing he and he alone could save them?

I put the version of OOT I got with Mario Kart DD on last night and anyone who says this doesn't look quite a lot better needs their eyes tested. N64 games really haven't aged well graphically have they?

Plus you know that sound that plays as Link opens a chest? I'll never get tired of that :D

The PS1/Saturn/N64 era is very hard to go back to as the graphics are very much in their infancy. I guess its like comparing them to Spectrum/C64/Atari2600.

Don't get me wrong the gameplay still stands up in a lot of cases, its just they look awful. I can't believe thinking that graphics couldnt get any better after playing the PS1.

16Bit I find no issues going back to, and the last gen of consoles isnt that bad.
