Played this up to Dodongo's Cavern last night. It's the game we all know and love with a few nice tweaks. I found the 3D basically didn't work at all however, any more than about 5% stereoscopy and I saw two distinct Links running around, slightly overlapping one another. I don't get this in any other game, I normally play with about 50% stereoscopy.

That sounds like cross talk mate, the 3ds suffers from it more visable in a area where a light object passes over a dark one. I see it alot at night on pilot wings.

Nah every section in the game has done it so far, I've been turning it on and off constantly. The only way to get rid of it is to have an incredibly small amount of 3D on. I've had it in Kokiri Forest, The Deku Tree, Hyrule Field, Hyrule Castle, Kakariko Village, Death Mountain Trail, Death Mountain and Dodongo's Cavern.

I thought maybe my 3DS was broken but Ridge Racer/Street Fighter are fine.

It's no big deal, I just turned it off. Frame rate and brightness are improved and the battery lasts longer too.

The 3D does vary from game to game though. I found I could have the slider all the up in Ridge Racer but not more than 50% in Pilotwings otherwise the background separated far too much for me to see. I am differently short-sighted in each eye though so maybe its just my weaker eyes unable to process it.

The 3D video of OoT3D on the store looks fine to me with the slider at 50% so that's the setting i'll play the game on.

Its fine everywhere for me. Slider at about 50%.

The only time it caused a slight issue was when a dialogue box paused the action and navi was right in the middle of the screen, in the extreme foreground. That made it a little uncomfortable to read the dialogue but it was only for a few seconds.

I was having a hard time with the 3d last night as well. After defeating the Deku Tree boss it went mental and looked like I was seeing double unless I turned the 3d completely off. Its a shame because it looks absolutely gorgeous in 3d when it works, especially the cut scenes.

But don't let that put anyone off getting it, the game is still fabulous :)

I'm not going mad then, phew.

It does it very occasionally in Ridge Racer with the 3D on max, but it does it in this all the time with 3D on just about any level.

I prefer this is in 2D anyway. For me it doesn't really benefit from the 3D, the joy of Ocarina is the pacing and design.

Edit - Just showed it to a work colleague who took it back to his desk and played it for ten mins (running around hyrule field), he thought exactly the same about the 3D, it doesn't really work except for the very lowest settings or off completely.

Gah, my copy is 'Dispatching Soon' and can't be cancelled - there goes my half-arsed plan to cancel my Amazon order if I happen to walk in a shop with available copies today. Oh well. 'A penny saved is a penny earned' and all that.

I guess it'll be Link's Awakening this weekend then.

CRAP!

Hopefully it'll all come together because they did really stress that the game would turn up on the 17th. If it doesn't turn up, I'm buying it over the weekend anyway and sending the Amazon copy back demanding my money back for breaking their promise.

Did you guys use First Class delivery? If so, in my experience - it arrives next day. I was assured mine would arrive for the 17th as I chose First Class as soon as I ordered out of principle, instead of free standard delivery.

Yeah, I did. I was figuring this would happen ...or no one would ever use Amazon.

The 3D definitely does work fine for me, but I do notice a lot of ghosting at the highest setting when there's a dark background. Really noticeable when you go between rooms and the corridor is black for a second.

I'm at the top of death mountain at the moment, fairly light and more importantly a uniform background. Middle of the day. Push the 3D slider up, two distinct Links overlapping. It's alright in the fairy fountain though, despite that being a mix of blackness and bright lights

I suspect it's subjective, just warning people that some of us seem to have a bad time with it.

Game didn't get it here a day early :(

Glad I'm not the only one! Must have been dispatched late yesterday, regardless of what the order status said. I blame Father's Day post for this outrage.

Same here.

FUCKING GAME.

I think I'll trade in Puzzle Bobble and Rayman for this tomorrow in Game. There's a good reason why Puzzle Bobble is so cheap and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to replace Rayman cheaply later if I want to.
