Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D

Is it wrong that a 33 year old man feels emotional playing this again for the first time in 13 years? It's amazing.

I spent ten minutes just watching the attract screen over and over again. I was blown by how amazing it all looks.

I've now talked to Zelda for the first time in the castle and headed off for the next bit. I'm loving it and have learned two very important life lessons.

1. Never, ever hit chickens with a sword. They are devil spawn

2. Cuckoos look like chickens but sound like roosters.

Yeah, I watched it a couple of times before starting - I love the chilled music and the sound of distant hooves slowly growing louder. I've only played through the first village section and the Deku Tree so far, but it all came flooding back. Along with memories of a wasted youth. Rolling home at four in the morning after a night out, steaming drunk, trying not to wake up the folks while squeezing in a game of Zelda on the N64.

I like the depth effects very much. Even the little touches like the way the chests look hollow as they open up really add to it. However, I think I prefer playing it in 2D for the most part. The visuals seem a lot more polished.

It's the little details I swear weren't in the original. When you go into houses you can find pictures up on the walls that I can't remember being there. The sheikas house in kakariko village has pictures showing little hints to puzzles late into the game. I spotted one talking about reflecting light for example.

Personally I can't play it in 2d. It looks so wonderful with the 3d on max there is the old world I remember looking better than before stretching out before me. I'm getting excited about going back to every area, I remember zora's domain blowing me away at the time, it would be nice if it can again. I think for me ghosting happens when the brightness is set wrong for the brightness in the room I'm playing in.

They have done a really nice job updating the graphics but somehow keeping the over all charm. Also the music has been slightly improved giving it a much clearer crisper feel.

This makes me look forward to the starfox 64 conversion even more as that looks like its had a big bump in the graphics and clarity of voices.

Did that myself a little while ago, it was brilliant. Also, another example of a small thing would be how they made the ocarina songs sound better, more magical.

Also, fuck that massive rolling Goron in Goron city. "Stop me and get a prize" my ass.

Oh, it spelt it like that?

Cos, I always knew it as http://www.zeldawiki.org/Cuccoo

Ah. That'll be me pressing A through the dialogue too quickly and the bright sun on the train home from work making 3d non-functional and the screen barely readable. Makes sense now :)

I'm still never hitting a chicken again. I must say I'm enjoying this much more than I did Twilight Princess.

I bloody hate this thread and everyone in it.

I had no interest in a 3DS or this game, as Ive got too much on over the summer. After reading the impressions, Im remembering why Zelda Ocarina of Time is in my top 3 games of all time and how fondly I remember every area.

The awakening in the tree house, exploring the Deku tree (With object puzzles that were around before Half Life 2) the reveal of Hyrule Field, and the sneaking into the Castle rate as one of the finest openings to any Videogame in history.

Im going to buy this arent I? :(

Great...no game from Game and so cannot order the CD. If they are all gone by the time it does arrive then I will be really pissed off.

Same for me, I'm at work till 10pm and where I live is shit for buying games. We have a tesco, but they don't usually have the games until they are in the charts. Last time I use GAME.

Very jealous of you sgm, you have such an adventure in store! :)

Sun for me unless I can get somewhere to sell it early.

Loving everyone's impressions and keeps reminding me of bits I've totally forgotten. I can't wait to do the 'dive' in Zora's domain for the first time again. I remember that was the first time in any game I'd actually felt my stomach flip when jumping from a great height. Hopefully it'll be even better in 3D... :)

Sounds ridiculous but I am so tense sat here in work hoping and praying that my GAME order has made it to my doormat...

It never made it... :(

Bang goes my chance of the CD... :( :(

Oh, but have no fear, those cunts at GAME have sent me a delightful email stating that I may have noticed that the pre-order goodies did not arrive with the game today and that they will be despatched seperately!!!

WHAT FUCKING GAME!!!

For Fucks sake, trying to register for cd and it keeps saying please enter youre address even though its already in.

Put the house number in one box and the street name in the other. It worked for me after I did that.

THEY ARE ALL GONE :( :( :(

I had your problem and phoned Nintendo literally just now. I spoke to Mario and he said " A-NO-WAY! "

so.. if someone wants a nice soundtrack swap.. I'll offer Animal Crossing for Your Zelda Soundtrack.

We can discuss details of it over PM ;)
