Am so pumped for this, even though I can't see the 3D. OoT on a handheld is just going to be aces. Pleeeeeeeeeease do MM next?

Since my kids are starting to monopolise the consoles, my PSP and 3DS are getting a workout, this will be pure heaven

I didn't like Jabu Jabu's belly much, the eye watering colour palette combined with the N64's blur-o-vision made that level feel like swimming in the sick of somebody with a bleeding ulcer.

That's what was cool about it.

But actually yeah, that was my least favourite dungeon. Still a long way from being even remotely "shit" though.

Guys - when is the global release for this?

I am ITCHING.

How are you going to play it? I think i'm going to take it really slowly and explore every last nook and cranny. Speak to everyone I come across and just soak up the nostalgia. Bring it.

It's 17th June for Europe and I think the 19th for the US, so it depends what region your machine is from.

I'm going to do as much as I can be bothered. I'm not bothered about getting 100% of skulltulas or every single heart piece.

I'm probably going to pick it up a week or two later second hand as I'll be on holiday when it's released. And I'm going to blast through it in double quick time. Wandering around talking shit to people in games has never appealed, especially ones I've clocked a couple of times.

i like to scream through the first three dungeons, soak up the drama, mess around sticking my sword in that rock about a dozen times, then do the next temple and eventually get bored. then it takes me months to get through the rest of the game in occasional sessions (because there's always some bit i don't really enjoy after the tenth time of doing it, but i still want to get through to the awesome bits). if this version came with ready-made savefiles at the beginning of each temple i'd probably be all over that, just so i didn't have to choose between either the very first bit, the very last bit, or the bit i'm currently bored with every time i fancy a go. (i'm currently at the start of the water temple and feel i need to stock up on free time and jalapeno kettle chips before i get stuck in on that).

I hope you won't be eating crisps and playing at the same time. :blah:

"He's so proud of his penis. If he only knew which one it was."

Yeah Will probably bring down the Negpocalypse with that one. But you really want someone to explain the differences between Vanilla OOT and Master Quest?

The overworld is the same. The Dungeons have been entirely remixed using the same assets. Master Quest is harder.

I will be playing through the original first for nostalgia, then Master Quest unless its mirror mode which you can turn off. Then it can get fucked.

Got hold of a copy this morning as i'm on review for it and am blown away by how good it looks.

Everything has been touched up, not just a lick of paint either. Really really impressed. The 3D is really subtle, which is a good thing IMO. Bottom screen is used for a hell of a lot but isn't a pain in the arse. Thankfully it's designed to be worked with your thumb saving you getting the stylus out every 5 minutes.

The only issue i've had is that the scenery seems to 'clip' more than it did on the N64. I've seen through walls a number of times and that's something i though we were finished with in video gaming.

Can't fucking wait to play though this now, really excited just by the opening 30 mins or so.

elmo, how does the analogue stick and z-lock feel with this? I'm not as bothered about the visual changes as some people, but I do want it to feel right. With the N64 the pad just melted in your hands and the controls were perfect. How does this compare?

As I've said before, I think the circle pad is more of a step forward for portable gaming than the 3D effect. The circle pad is utterly wonderful and feels completely natural in this as it does any other game on the system.

The Z locking works well as it's just mapped to the L button. The only thing that some might not like is that the camera is on the d-pad meaning that you can't move that and link at the same time.

Oh and the first person view is controlled with the gyroscope. I gabby look yet but I hope there's a way to switch that off.

I think you can, I recall seeing a Youtube preview showing first person view both using the gyroscope and the pad.

I honestly have no idea why developers use the gyroscope for this sort of thing. It's fucking annoying.

OOT didn't have a camera anyway - so no biggie. I've never used the camera in any Zelda games (Windwaker, TP). Just a quick squeeze of the lock-on button to centre the camera behind link is all that's needed for Zelda games.
