Took my son to his first game at London Stadium, shame the team decided to put in a shambles of a performance.

Getting a little fed up with stubborn Moyes and his reluctance to change the team. He’s always said he will only buy players to improve the team yet leaves them on the bench. We have been waiting goodness knows how long for a striker, we buy one and he still does not even replace the non striker. Soucek is so poor at the mo, yet he plays all the time. Bowen way off the pace. Devoid of any ideas going forward and communication is lacking.  Why bother buying the likes of Downes if you are going to leave him on the bench to make up the numbers? If he insists on playing the same old formation and suspects, I cannot see where a win is coming from.

Oh well, the pre match meal in W’spoons was nice at least.

We scored a goal at home! Could have nicked all 3 but take a point as they have been in great form.

Despite the unfortunate OG, I thought Kehrer was excellent. Much better from Antonio, he knows he has to perform now we finally have competition for him. Nice to see Paqueta. Onwards and upwards. COYI.

Cannot comprehend what happened today.  These decisions, happening too often in this league (especially in other matches too today) are quite frankly embarrassing. It did not even need to be referred by VAR, why were they even getting involved? So fed up and the Premier League and these utterly hopeless officials will crack on as if nothing has happened.  Zero accountability. Nothing.

It’s not VAR that’s the problem either. I believe it has a home in the game but it’s the idiots controlling it. The VAR officials are starting to referee the games. I thought it was minimal interference and clear and obvious errors only or am I missing something here? Something needs to be done but obviously nothing will.

That was more like it. Really important result for Moyes I think, the disquiet was starting to grow. Hopefully Scamacca and Bowen are up and running. Soucek had a decent game in the end to be fair to him. Paqueta looks really good imo, can pass a sharp ball but works hard as well, I already like him a lot. Kehrer might be our best signing of the summer though.

Nice to see the decisions going our way for a change. Don't think Scamacca's goal was handball. If it did brush his arm, then it was the fainter than Casper giving you a handjob. He didn't celebrate because he wasn't sure if he was offside. The Antonio one is harder to call because I've only seen one replay of it and it does look like it hits his biceps, although to me it's off the chest.

I think Paqueta needs to remember he's not playing with the national team and be slightly less adventurous with his passes (it's Cresswell, not Cafu) but he's fitting in more and more. Scamacca is looking seriously impressive and I'm glad Mikey looks like he has the arse; get him nice and fired up and provide competition.

Like you DJ I was hoping for Downes rather than bit Tom, but we won (even though it was hard work) so I won't moan too much.

Onwards and upwards!

Had enough chances to win 3 games yesterday. As did Liverpool. If it had been 4-3 either way, I would not have been surprised.

Some things are so obvious though. Rice gets a goal last weekend with a one two, so last night we do about 8 one twos with Rice. At least it gets him forwards sensibily rather than playing in front of Soucek for no reason. Yes Mr Soucek, you had your best game this season last night. Keep it up.

Struggling with motivation to blog after all these years, so things will be a bit more sporadic moving forwards. Going to all 3 games next week, so should have something to scribble. Delighted for us to have Man U away coming up, just as they seem to have found form for the first time in donkeys !

Really enjoyed that performance. Attitude was spot on from senior players to the youngsters. Scarles pick of the bunch, looks a real talent at just 16. Downes again showing he is a class player. Fornals with a couple of great goals. 6 wins out of 6. Roll on March!

Downes played in teh 10 role yet again. Why do this when you have Fornals and/or Manu on the pitch.

I despair of Moyles sometimes but fair play for playing so many kids and a huge congratulations for them for conducting themselves admirably.

Ashamed to admit the Tango kit is growing on me, especially with no sponsor on it 😬

I really enjoyed that match and the coverage. No VAR. Moyes doling out senior debuts left and right. Scarles putting in a motm performance. The Coles waxing lyrical in the studio. Some beautiful post match interviews. It is what it is really all about or should be.

God, what a load of complete fucking shit.  Bowen shouldn't be playing, Soucek shouldn't be playing and Antonio is stinking the place out.

Moyes negative tactics are ruining all the good work he's done. We look shit, every week and he won't change anything.

Awful. Utterly awful.

Moyes has taken us as far as he can.  He can’t manage creative attacking players, spent goodness knows how much money this season and sets us up so negatively. His decision to sub Benrahma was a joke. Scamacca will go the same way as Haller under Moyes and I can’t believe for one minute that Paquetá enjoys playing under him. Picks the same underperforming players and reluctant to ever change anything in formation and tactics. The Europa Conference games are just masking the dreadful form of the team in the Premier League.

Thanks for everything but time to go.

I really, really don't like to say it, but I agree, Moyes has taken us as far as he can now. It is one thing to play negative football and win but if we aren't even winning what is the point? He cannot be allowed to ruin Scamacca and Paqueta.

Who saw a loss coming? (everyone except Moyes it seems).

The boss is apparently safe in his job, we couldn't score in a brothel and we've broken up for 5 weeks and have Arsenal on the league return (in which Moyes will still be manager) and it's 9 losses already this season.

Yay, life as a West Ham fan :hmm:

I'm just gutted we have assembled this fantastic team on paper and in what will probably be Declan Rice's last season we are still playing this horrible, negative football. Moyes only knows one way it seems.

If your manager's ambition extends as far as being a competitive mid-table team, but he is unprepared to take the risks needed to win things, then why waste the £200 million? I'd rather they put the money into the academy and hunted out more Craig Dawsons and Jarrod Bowens from the lower leagues.

It is the hope that kills you. A generational talent like Rice squandered.
