Got Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem and was going to buy Luigi to get my free copy of Animal Crossing.

Have decided that I don't need Luigi yet and so I'll buy Animal Crossing to ensure I get it on launch day and get Luigi for free instead at my leisure.

Unless you're getting them all as downloads, surely AC is the one you'd want to get for free just for the homescreen convenience? I love Luigi, probably my GOTY so far, but I doubt I'll be playing it that often now I've finished it. :)

Yeah, I bought FE as a download and Luigi's as a cart and will be getting DK as a cart too so AC is always on the 3DS. Better to have the games I'm going to be playing the most regularly permanently on the machine. Especially as AC generally only requires 10 mins half an hour of pottering about, weeding and paying off the mortgage every day* rather than hour+ sessions.

*I still don't really understand why the game is so appealing when you're almost 'playing' real life. Although if I could pay off my current mortgage through nothing more than fishing and selling fruit, turnips and furniture I've found in perfect condition in a skip or been given to me by neighbours, I'd be happy as larry.

So some people in the 3DS thread went for the DKCR as their downloadable game, and got the code automatically added to their account today, the game's release.

Bodes well for those doing the same for Animal Crossing and worried about waiting for a code.

Ah yeah I guess...I do buy them all as downloads anyway so it makes no difference in that regard for me. :-)

When is the digital release date for this? I thought it was 9th June but the 3DS eShop says 16th. Please tell me that Nintendo have it wrong...9th is for the US isn't it? :(

Yep, 9th is for the US :-( On a positive note, I seem to remember it being mentioned that we'll be able to download it at midnight, so no waiting for the eShop to update all afternoon!
