I think I'd have to start over if I went back in now. I honestly can't take the guilt when I go back having not played for a while

That's just part of their evil plan. You're the victim here. Lured into the town and given a position of false authority as you're tricked into single handedly providing for the entire town. The animals get to live there for free as your labours fund and feed them, with Tom Nook as the evil overlord who all the excess cash you generate eventually funnels to. Or does it? There are Tom Nooks and his younger relatives in all of the thousands of near identical towns, each containing another slave like yourself. These guys are just actors. There's an ultimate Mr Big you never see somewhere, who makes millions of Bells a day (and then millions more selling on all that fruit and fish you farm on the open market). Probably Tortimer.

I meant the Escape game that was mentioned

"Desert Island Escape" is a meatier game, by far, and as such it requires a higher-powered console to play it — in New Leaf, that is. Players will have to find a tiny Wii U for their homes to access the game, while "Puzzle League" is a faux 3DS title. It seems unlikely that either title will be broken out as separate, downloadable games for the real life consoles they’re intended for, but even just as in-game bonuses, they’re Nintendo’s attempt at adding some longevity to New Leaf.

So can we do a little recap of who is going back into AC post-update?

It's been so long since we really tended to our town that I'm tempted to start over - particularly if I'll get some sort of Nook bonus. But who is going to have some fruit gathering opportunities for me?

I still pop into my town every day. You can visit me and help yourself to fruit.

Great! Still the friendliest thread on this forum.

I didn't realise it would have sorted the weeds and so on in the update, so might stick with it.

Me. I'm playing it nearly everyday.

just a tl;dw would suffice, thanks. :P

There is a new campsite area in your town, you meet Harvey a hippy dog there.

He has unique items for sale, plus special characters visit in their camper van. They also have mostly unique items for sale too.

You can only pay for these items at the campsite with M.E.O.W. coupons. You can earn these by doing stuff around town, you can see what needs doing via your TPC - town pass card. (This is explained upon updating and playing the game).

Each time you complete a certain thing to earn MEOW coupons, you have to go to the town hall and use the new MEOW exchange thingy.

You can get a WiiU and 3DS, and play two new mini-games.

You can, when you get the genie lamp, talk to Wisp and use Amiibo figures and cards to invite animals to move in to your town.

You can also destroy you town for cash, if you don't like it anymore, and choose a new town etc..

You can also go to Nook Homes and get a secret storage space for your house.

And that's just wandering about until I find him? Google and even *gulp* Reddit seem pretty vague on it.

I think you have to play a few days, before you get the genie lamp which lets you talk to Wisp. Not sure how or where you get this genie lamp.
