Enjoyed the trailer a lot

Hopefully I wasnt the only one who saw the weird train/car thing and thought - 4 rails, really? Surely that's 2 too many?! How much extra track do you have to lay for that thing, with zero benefit! :)

Nope, that 'annoyed' me too. :hmm:

I recently read Perdido Street Station and this looks a lot like New Crobuzon did in my mind. Concerned about the lack of dirigibles, but hey. They might string a dirigible video featurette together any day now.

EG preview:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-04-26-dishonored-preview-the-ways-of-system-shock-and-thief-return

Dishonored, much like BioShock Infinite, is an elegant game for a more civilized age. It proudly stands out from the 2012 sequel conveyor belt, and if it fulfils its potential could be a defining game of this generation. That said, it comes from a publisher and a developer for whom troubled releases are hardly a stranger - and one would hope that all involved recognise the importance of keeping Dishonored in the development oven until it's good and ready. It appears that the old ways, the ways of Deus Ex, System Shock and Thief, are very much back in the mainstream. The only remaining question is why they ever went away in the first place.

I can't believe I've been completely in the dark about this.. I just read the first 3 of those 18 things on Kotaku and decided to keep myself in the dark. Amazing how hype levels rise so much from a few posts on a forum :D

S'nice, but I really just wanna' see them run through the demo they showed the journalists so I can more accurately judge the pace of play. Everything I've read about it makes it sound ace but I just wanna' see it with my own eyes. After then I can go radio silent and just pre-order it.

Ah, who am I kidding? I'll soak up every single frame of publicity guff they put out between now and October. :(

The sense of location is fantastic - up there with Half Life 2 (a franchise it seems to have a lot in common with).

But for all the beauty of the locales, they seem very sparse. The combat also seems strangely 'disconnected'. I'm not sure really what I'm trying to say. Just doesn't look very robust. Lots of flashy animation but little nuance. Certainly doesn't look like its going to rival Halo for satasfying combat. Still, will be keeping a keen eye on all previews come E3.

Just so long as the game isn't as tedious to play as Half-Life 2, I'll be happy. It doesn't need Halo-rivalling combat, so long as it offers a satisfyingly diverse range of approaches to situations.
