You'd need a long, bent elongated thumb to fire the rocket/ charges combinations in Metrod prime or to boost in F-Zero GX! In fact for it to be in any way real, you'd need the GC contoller set up for A, B, X and Y. The C stick would also be yellow without the wide grippy top.

I'm thinking about how 3d gaming on the move would cause serious sickness to people. I've never been puking over a tv game though I've heard rumours about it happen because of improvements in 3d tech. put these factors and add movement... I'm sure it's all bad.

1 - Ignoring the inaccuracies in design, I quite like it.

2 - If this design were to make Nintendo do something similar, it would be the second Nintendo console I've ever bought on day of release.

3 - I'd buy one.

Hell - a portable GameCube and GBA adapter. It's a toilet gamers dream. :D

The thing with fan art and mock-ups is not to take them too seriously. I for one did not like the PSP artwork that was announced a few weeks ago. It looked too much like a poser's toy rather than a gamers tool.

Erm... Mario Kart? Doom? No problems with those.

I missed my train stop whilst playing Doom because I was disoriented and thought the train was going the opposite way to what it was actually going.

Being in a 3D space whilst being in a moving 3D space is... confusing. :D

?

I've played Duke 3d, Doom and Ecks Vs. Sever whilst on a bus and i've not had this problem...

Personally, i'd LOVE to play my gc games on a handheld. Amazing.

It would give me more time for Animal Crossing too...

Really unlikely though it is, such a gaming machine would really make the market jump. Not only backwards compatible with GBA games but backwards compatible with the whole GC library, including all the various multi-platform ports. The more you think about the possible knock on effects of such a handheld console, the more you realise its just a pipedream.

It is the "Walkman of the 21st Century!" Meaning it is not a gamer's tool. It is for wider market with application far beyond games. I don't like the designs either but don't you think it'll sell like shit loads if it ever came out like that?

but it'd need a kind of cover, or else the analogue sticks would be royally fucked.

During a recent discussion of the PSP it was mentioned that if they were to put an analogue stick on a handheld, it would have to be "recessed" to be flush with the casing (like the GBA SP D-Pad).

I don't even know if it's possible to make a recessed analogue stick. Anyone?

I don't see why not - the plastic it's mounted on inside would just have to be further inside the unit wouldn't it?

Obviously there would still have to be a gap around the end of the stick so you could move the bugger though.
