It's a film that's supposed to make you feel like a kid again, but can the opposite effect if you find yourself somehow totally disinterested in it, it makes you feel old and dead inside.

I think that's what people can also mean when they say 'it looks like a videogame'.

I think this is going to a be a complete turn off your brain, sit back and look at the cool pictures moment, which I am more than happy to do. My inner child (the dominant decision make in my life) cant wait, what's not to like, Giant fighting robots, Giant space monsters from under the sea (or giant sea monsters from another dimension)and asplosions. The Robot Jox reference in the trailer and the homage to GLaDOS just make me want to see this more.

the only way is can see this disappointing me is if they do a spiderman 3, where the trailer showed the venom suit, hobgoblin and sandman and the full film gave us a two hour relationship drama with peter and mary.

First shot of the accompanying model/toy line. From Comingsoon

With just over two months to go before Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim hits the big screen, toy company NECA (National Entertainment Collectibles Association) has today posted on Twitter a prototype shot of their their incredible 18-inch Gipsy Danger! Check it out below.

"I can't show you any Kaiju yet," the feed says, "but would you like a peek at the unpainted 18" Gipsy Danger model? LED lights & more!!"

That trailer is much more effective than the earlier one. I've seen Del Toro talk about how he really wanted to give a sense of scale and this new trailer gives a much stronger sense of how massive the machines and monsters are.
