Spoke to the distributor today, and it looks like there won't be a restock of X-Wing in the UK until the end of May. My advice to anyone getting into it is to pick up whatever you see, as it's once again going to be nigh-on impossible to find (you'd think someone might have learned from the ridiculous Wave 1 situation).

I've just check IGUK and they're still showing stock for the the fighters, so if you're after anything then I'd pick it up now. I know a lot of places are already out with no hopes of a restock. I'm ordering a couple of Tie Interceptors and a Y-Wing, as I hadn't been able to get hold of them for myself.

I'm going to pick a few up and justify it by selling it all as a set a year or two down the line when it's dead hard to find, that is of course only if I'm not playing it enough to warrant keeping it. It's an investment, see.........at least, that's what I'll tell the wife. I've been buying too many toys lately.

Just nabbed a TIE Interceptor and the last Y-Wing they had in stock. I just can't justify the Millenium Falcon or Slave 1 - I didn't realise they were so expensive. I'll also pick up another base set at some point soon so that should give some nice squad options.

I'm sad to report that my first outing with the Falcon was a disaster. It was going so well at first too! I had the Falcon, an X-Wing and a Y-Wing and my friend had Slave-1, two TIE fighters and the TIE Advanced. I'd opted to pimp all of my ships out, where as he just took four good pilots, with no additions.

I'd planned to try and take out the TIE Fighters at first, but Slave-1 got right up in my face and it was too tempting a target to pass up. Luckily enough, my first salvo from the Falcon took down all four of it's shields, but due to poor judgement on my X-Wing, it had no angle at all. My Y-Wing (always meant as a pawn sacrifice) was busy drawing off the TIE Advanced and the other TIE Fighter. I hoped it would buy me enough time to finish off the other two, then the Falcon and a Luke piloted X-Wing could mop them up.

Of course, it all went horribly wrong. None of my next few attacks were anywhere near as successful and Slave-1 held on stubbornly for ages, but finally went down about 3 turns later. The next turn both my Y-Wing and the Falcon were taken out, leaving only the X-Wing with two measly hull left. My opponents ships were still in great health and the rest was academic.

Ah well, at least I took out Boba Fett.

So I managed to play four games of this over the last couple of days with Mr.Potatohead (from this forum) after picking up two starter sets. Got HUMPED every time. Shattered my dreams of being a fighter pilot, so I've used all my negs on him to balance things. Fantastic game though, and I definitely want one of each ship now. Curse them and their poor stock levels. And my poor bank account.

I came this ---><--- close to buying a second base set, A-Wing and Tie Interceptor from Patriot Games today... Thankfully came to my senses (and realised it wouldnt look good walking into a customer meeting with them) before parting with any cash ...but im already regretting it! :(

By the way, if you want you can always use suitable replacement minis, it's worth saying. Papercraft, Titanium series, Pocketmodel... ok, there's a scale issue but if you want to save yourself a shed-load of cash...

I've got an Outrider Pocketmodel sitting in my eBay basket right now!

Also, the cards you get with each mini expansion are visible on the FFG website. Just saying.

Damn that's quick! I ordered two from them and two from an Amazon seller - Buy 4 Less or something like that. Hopefully the IGUK ones will arrive tomorrow then, provided the impending ice age doesn't stop the post getting here.

And you're not helping, Andy...

If it makes you feel any better, I went and bought an A-Wing today.

Also, for those of your worried about stock shortages, my local Forbidden Planet still has a stack of Falcons and Slave 1's. I can't see them shifting that lot (especially where they've placed them), so let me know if any of you need me to grab one for you.

I'll get some foam board for the bases and see how it goes. It'll either work or it won't but for £3.68 and a weeks wait you can't go wrong.

You know they come with their own bases/stands, yeah?

Anyhoo, just bought the Outrider myself:
