Rather than stretch the spring, I could send you a load from my 'collection' if you want? Just send me a measurement of the one that's in there and I'll see what's lurking in my garage. I have springs, I'm turning into Clint Eastwood from Gran Tourino. Man has tools and shit.

Cheers. They are sending a replacement via courier so seeing as it’s not much hassle I’ll do that.

Finally got my Moza setup delivered!  It's really impressive, how the hell have they managed to come out of nowhere and produce something this good?!  I'll do a proper write up with photos later....

I now have a Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer for sale if anyone's interested?  It's boxed and in good condition/working order.

Yeah that's what the general consensus is - Moza are a serious player now and Fanatec has to take heed and realise that they're not the big dog anymore.

Looking forward to this, esp how it is on your stand. As you’re probably more invested in the community side is there any talk of them getting hardware to work on consoles?

Looks great @SharkyOB and glad you have it all setup and working well - must have been fate as I watched a review today by Danny Lee (I think) and he was very pleased with it esp the pedals….. upgrade for you down the line ;) The QR looks properly brilliant and similar to others that arent Fanatec so hopefully the QR2 will follow that path.

With the stand I wonder if because mine is bolted to the frame/seat its behaving differently as there are times that I can feel the stand moving side to side with the FFB and im not running it full power (70% as I recall) and if I could get a bit more angle on the wheel deck i think I would DIY so bracing to make it more like the Apex and I think it would solve most of it.

Ok, this wheel is excellent!

That looks amazing, Matt! If my Fanatec gear ever needs replacing, I'll be looking at Moza as well. I wasn't aware that you can use your Thrustmaster pedals and shifter on it! Is it compatible with peripherals of other brands as well?

Next thing on the list surely is a proper rig? 😅

It is amazing mate, so impressed with it!  It's not actually directly compatible with the pedals/shifter though; if you look through the wheel rim on this image:

You can see the USB box I have mounted on my stand to the right of the wheel, I use that as an interface for the wheel, pedals and shifter (the button box will be added soon) and that's then a single USB connection to the PC.  So all of the devices are effectively separately attached and work independently of each other.  Added bonus here was that the pedals actually worked slightly better (higher resolution) when connected directly to the PC than they would've done if they'd been connected via my TS-PC.

Don't have space for a proper rig and this setup is more than fine for me; sofa is nice and comfy, if a bit sweaty in this weather 😅  Also, my seating position is perfect for my surround sound setup, so I can use that for the game and have crew chief (and you guys on the rare occasions when I can race) coming through my VR headset speakers

Ah right, but still a very good solution if you have pedals and shifters that don't need replacing.

Yeah I enjoyed racing on my sofa before we had kids and being banned to the loft. 😅

Hopefully you can make an exception and join us for the team endurance come September! Gives you a good opportunity to test the Moza properly! 😉

I did (another) thing….

spacer.png

Its the basic GTomega stand and while its decent and has nice wheels the mounting bars cover up all the back ports and the power lead socket…. There are 2 side mounted HDMI so thats ok but to get it mounted and powered its only got 3 screws holding the tv to the frame :o

Im going to blame LG for this as the ports and power socket are all in the same line as the VESA moutn holes so while a small square mount will not be affected any long rail mounts will.

Other than that its far too hot to be building stuff in the sauna thats my room so after 1 and a bit laps i gave up for the day, initial impressions are WTF - its a sensory overload having the TV so close and totally thrown off all my points of reference 😂 I will need to have a play with the distance from my nose but this is only a 43” screen so how people run 55 and above is beyond me but maybe i will get used to it… I hope I do!

You’re too fast already… I wish I had just gone for a full rig rather than the stages ive gone for and will end up with said full rig soon enough, im loving being back into racing.

Ordered the loadcell pedal now, these TT challenged in GT7 are great fun and I defi miss the loadcell pedal!

I was going to post this! Good news that Moza are working on console support but in the mean time this seems a decent solution - ive not tried the Fanatec on my series X yet so must try that soon.

Button box has arrived from an Etsy seller and is now mounted on my wheelstand:

Works perfectly although it's mounted upside down at the moment due to where the cable port is.  I'm thinking about getting an L-shaped cable or adaptor so I'd be able to get it the right way up, which would solve the issue of the plug sticking out on the left of the box.

Not sure I'll ever be able to use the latching switches in games, they only really seem to support single button presses.

Another present to me… the CSL loadcell pedal arrived today, I have it in my hands and yet I haven’t been billed for VAT and the UPS fee, I had to pay that up front on the wheel package!?

Fitting the pedal was an absolute nightmare, combination of me not reading the instructions so didnt wire it properly but mainly as the pedal deck just isnt drilled with the right holes to fix the CSL pedals - much swearing and jiggling around and its fitted but not where I want it to be (why i didnt just replicate how I had the old pedal setup I dont know…) so the drill will need to come out at some point!

In use, wow first impressions are that its way too stiff with not enough travel but after a few laps I was used to it if not fully happy with it - didnt have long but out of the box quicker on the GT7 TT bodes well but immediately trail braking is soooooo much easier so im really looking forward to getting it setup properly (around a half day task if todays efforts are a guide😂)and using it in anger!

Mods to follow, I need more travel and less firm pedal….

I still use my old CSR pedals, which are still in excellent condition even though they're about 10 years old (or even past that).

I wish I still had my clubsport pedals, I assume they would still work with current wheelbase but maybe not.

Looking at the reviews and the new Elite V2 are meant to be really good, brake pedal is better than the CS V3’s and a decent step up from the CSL or original elites, I hope they do update the CS or the Podiums get announced soon…. Mind I need to try and mod the CSL loadcell before I get tempted into a upgrade!

So last night my DD Pro just disconnected mid-lap and then wouldn't reconnect. The power light just pulsating different colours after restarting with the wheel only turning slightly before stopping.

Turns out that the actual shaft can move and had been gradually pulled out from the wheel base. I had to loosen the plastic collar, push it back in and then retighten the colour and suddenly it works again and if anything, it felt a lot better? like there was suddenly a lot more detail and so on.

Anyway, yeah, that was a bit concerning.

Here's the fanatec forum post that helped me out for reference:

It took quite a while to go from "leaked pictures of the box" to an actual product!

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/new-logitech-pro-wheel-base-coming-or-simply-fake-pics.400810/

No pedals in the box, so there must be some of those coming too... unless they expect you to use your old G29 set.

If you watch the setup video they talk about the new pedals, seems £849 for the base tho :o
