Dreamcast to be re-released? With dvd?

My brother works at Virgin. Today they got their new stock lists in, and apparently the Dreamcast is on their. However, it also said it did dvd. Im sure he must have been confused about this (the dvd aspect at least) but he said its done as £29.99. Supposed to compete with the xbox (because it can play games online).

He also said a huge list of games were listed in there too. *New* games.

I just said to him, he must have been confused or telling bullshit - but he dont lie really.

So...anyone heard anything about this?!?

Nah, its Megaton! Sammy have injected tons of Cash into Sega, they've remodelled the Dreamcast with superior hardware to the XBox and have added support for all types of media. In a fit of generosity they've also offered a trade-in program for existing Dreamcast owners, whereby you can trade in your old Dreamcast + £10 and they'll give you the new machine and Shenmue 3.

I wish.

No it's not a new piece of hardware, we have it in the shop here. It's actualy a disk (In a DVD box) with some Dreamcast games which you can play on the Xbox, through emulation I guess. Maybe Sega think that since new games are still being made yet they've stopped making the hardware then it would help sales if they released a Dreamcast emulator.

On a side note, don't you just hate it when people make things up just to amuse themselves? It's not funny and it's not clever.

I was being serious*

*I obviously wasn't, but what does it matter? Its not like someone is going to read it and post it on Spong. Actually, on second thoughts, perhaps I had better delete that post.

Idiots.

Its a chip that plugs into your PC-motherboard. Takes full advantage of your VGA monitor and Broadband connection. All save games go on the Harddrive. The new games are just old ones put onto DVD's with a few extras and the odd name change to get people interested in the thing.

Its gonna rule.

This sounds the best yet!

Its based around the Pace set-top box that was gonna come out a few years back. You can download all the back-catalogue of Dreamcast games off the sega website. £1.99 a pop. Though all new releases seem to be on this DVD media disk. Apparently the Atomiswave sammy GD-roms are part of the DVD converted games that you will soon be able to play.

The pad has also been redesigned. I got one off my mate, who I can't tell you about (for obvious reasons) Instead of a VMU slot it has a mini tv tuner. Fucking wickid.

Yeah, I've heard about this. Apparently, Sega and Sammy will be making some new games for it as well, on the cheap though. Apparently a sequel to Seaman is in the pipeline (due to the much larger availablity of microphones for PCs).
