I found the hotel basement pretty straightforward once you realise

the majority of the infected don't appear until you start the generator, so after you've dispatched the couple of runners that are there to start with you're completely free to wander around upstairs, grab everything you can find, including the keycard, plan your route to the keycard door, then nip downstairs, switch the generator on and then bolt straight back up to the exit

Incredible game all round.

I've only just realised that you can change clothes! Bring back game manuals FFS, I've missed loads of stuff.

Some cool things I spotted the other day: clouds moving overhead sometimes cast shadows on the ground. and

Joel's face changes expression depending on what is happening in the game. I knew this happened during some parts e.g. when he gets impaled, but I also just found him smiling slightly after the giraffe scene, which I thought was quite cool.

OK, I've actually got into this now, had a pretty big session today. It's a lot easier since I discovered the clickers can't actually see you, so you can just sneak past them all. It's not groundbreaking or anything, but I'm enjoying it and I want to keep playing!

I'm up to the school. Hopped onto one of the buses and took them all out with arrows.

Finished Left Behind last night for the first time. What an absolutely incredible complement to the main story. The writing and acting are just so far ahead of any other game it's unreal, the music and graphics are sublime and playing this with surround sound headphones was one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've ever had.

All this and TLoU having an excellent multiplayer mode (which doesn't rely on having the reactions of a 14 year old) leads me to the conclusion that this is the best game I have ever played. Naughty Gods indeed!

Just cracked and bought this. Never bought it on my PS3 for somecrazy reason. Hope im in fir a treat. It feels like Christmas today :)

You know when someone goes on and on and on about how amazing a show or an album or a game or a movie is, and you eventually get to thinking that it'll only disappoint you, and then you get round to it and it turns out it's actually even better than your hyper-inflated expectations were?

Yeah.

That.

I didn't think it was shit to begin with. Well, it took half an hour to adjust to the graphics (on the PS3) as I was hugely disappointed by all the jaggies but the game was fine.

I actually think the more replays you do of the game the more the cracks start to appear.

Well, I was obviously exaggerating, but a lot of people seem to feel the game doesn't really get going until you meet Bill, and I'd class myself in that category, at least on my first play through. I've loved all of it on subsequent plays.

You'll probably think it's shit to begin with though. Everyone thinks it's shit to begin with. By the end you'll be thinking it's the best game you've ever played.

It absolutely takes a few hours to get going, but once it does it just refuses to suck.

Yeah, I started playing it, got three or four hours in, liked it but didn't think it was amazing, had no problem putting it aside for eight months or so. When I started playing again I got to a point where everything seemed to click- and couldn't put it down, one of those games where you're thinking about playing it when you're not playing it. And looking back through the thread it seemed to be a common thing- people saying after a few hours that it was alright but clearly over hyped, and then later on revising their opinion that it's actually the best thing ever and all video games will now seem pathetic and useless in comparison.

It's perfectly fair that not everyone thinks it's the second coming.

I enjoyed it immensely, but more the first time on PS3. It's also incredibly po faced. You know, it's good, but it's not as important as it thinks it is. As a story, The Walking Dead (TV series) is way better. Games still have a long way to go.

I prefer the gameplay in Uncharted, and the general tone. This is too serious for its own good.
