the assistant pointed out they had Band Hero for 98p...

Band Hero is great, it's one of the victims of Activisions oversaturation of the brand. It's no Rock Band but better than the previous 2 mainline Guitar Hero games and it's fun and has a good poppy soundtrack. 98P? buy if you see it.

So why doesn't a GAME employee cut out the middle man? that is, take that bundle to CEX, get the money and put it in GAME's till.

Because this isn't JUST about money, it's also an attempt to glean a little goodwill back from telling people to go to Argos for Mass Effect 3 as the poor tillass in Ealing had to do while I was there.

For my part, 7 games for 33 quid, 1 of which (Driver) cost me 15.

Picked up Saw for a fiver, Two Human for Two Quid, Band Hero for £1, PS2 TT Superbikes (something of a cult classic) for 3 quid, Rock Band for 3 quid and Guitar Hero 6 for a fiver.

And then I wished them the best of luck :)

I picked up Nier and Bulletstorm Epic Edition for £3 each, and felt so ashamed at picking at the corpse of the company that I spent a fiver on Darksiders. £11 for three games which I may never get around to playing.

Some people were going mental, just grabbing tonnes under £2 which was not a PES or FIFA title. I had to be careful not to go too overboard with the purchasing. A Boy and His Blob was a fiver and is meant to be great, but there is no way I will ever get around to it with the massive stack of unplayed games I already own.

Started to try and use up some more of my credit today - I needed some SEN wallet funds anyway (which obviously weren't discounted) but I picked up Deadly Premonition, Sega Rally and Shadows of the Damned for £21 in total, which I thought was alright. I think word has spread around here though because our GS is a lot busier than usual, with plenty of people wandering around with armfuls of cheap stuff...

I would be excited for this sale but I don't trust the condition of their pre-owned stock, and if something's in really naff condition it's not like I'm going to be able to go and take it back very easily.

I'm just biding my time, waiting for the sale on new stuff to begin. Especially PS3 Slims and Vitas.

Fallout 3 £2.98 and Fallout New Vegas £4.98 in Gamestation, Stranglehold £.99 in GAME. When in GAME they said they were doing some charity thing, so asked if I wanted to put an extra penny on to take Stranglehold up to a quid. So I did. Every little helps.

Won't happen. They'll go back to their distributors first. Remember they can always be sold to Amazon/Play/HMV, and the margins are so small that if they discount them to the point you're thinking, they'll lose money on them.

Quick heads-up.. anyone who tried to order that Castlevania Collectors Edition for £2.98 check your emails.

Its automatically been added as a pre-order with a price of £49.99! Best cancel sharpish!

Mine is unshipped, but still at £2.98.

Went back in during lunch today to see if I could spot anything different.

As I've got a massive backlog of games to be getting I tried to restraint myself and just got Dungeon Siege III for £2.98.

Although if someone has Nier and fancies Dungeon Siege instead I would be up for trading. :)

Anyone done an online order in the last week or so and actually had it shipped, I've got 4 pre-owned games ordered on Weds still sitting there. Irritatingly I could have bought one of them in store today for the same price.

Some people on HUKD have had shipped Castlevania CE's for £3.

Must have been the ones that got in there first.. assume they are out of stock now so its on back-order at full-price.

Didnt really expect to get one at that price but it was worth a go... Pre-order very much cancelled! :)
