Hi all, this is just a little experiment to see how you guys are finding the lag on Top Spin. I rarely get lag, but I've been speaking to a guy on another forum who gets loads, and he says his mates do too.

I thought it would be interesting to get a sample of as many people as possible to see how much of an issue it is, so please answer accordingly.

Sorry if it's a bit anal , I'm just interested to know how other people find it.

I'm interested in this too. The vast majority of games I play have little or no lag, but every now and then I'll get one that's so laggy it's just unplayable.

And, call me paranoid if you like, but I've also played games where the lag appears to be totally selective. Every time I try and serve, and never when they do, for instance. Or just as I try a risk shot.

They're pretty rare though, in truth. And it's probably more down to my paranoia than anything else.

As for the poll - not sure what to vote, really. I'd estimate I get bad lag one game in every twenty, or so. I'm more than happy with that, personally. I've gone for three out of ten, on balance.

I think Lag is there and I believe it is not good enough online compared to playing CPU on hard disk due to slightly delay in reaction. I also suffer a few slow game due to poor lag. So it all depend on who are you playing and what kind of connection you got.

I gave it a mighty 6. Not because it lags up alot btu because when it DOES lag (i'd say about 1 in 4 games) but when it does it spoils the game making it unplayable.

Yeah I think elmo is correct. The lag is starting to get annoying.

I can't remember who I was playing from the forum but they were telling me that this is becoming a common cheat now. The idiots start to download something on the PC when it's your serve creating lag and then stop when it suits them. Fucking idiots.

On a more general note it's generally ok but a game like this suffers a hell of a lot with any lag as timing is pretty crucial. That's my excuse anyway.

I was playing this earlier...and it was FUCKING AWFUL.

I'm sorry, but the entire game smacks of "Rush it out in time for Xmas" to me. It's disgraceful.

A short one player mode, the occasional poor shot choice by your players (or they just miss), little point of hitting very fast serves (online they seem to be countered, and in the single player you can use the drop shot serve to win 80% of points), and the CRAP CRAP Network code.

Topspin is not quite the package that people have made it out to be.
