Netflix - Releases & Recommendations

Any anime series currently worth watching on Netflix? (I’ve already seen Angel Beats, Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Hi-Score Girl. Those are good anime.)

The second season of Mindhunter seemed to appear without much fanfare. I only know one person who has mentioned watching it and I don't think if has ever put it on my home screen.

This is the downside of Netflix's model.

Is Death Note still on Netflix? If it is then that.

I fully expect Lost in Space to meet the same fate. :(

I like Black Lagoon. But it's more of an action anime set in the present rather than sci-fi or fantasy.

Anime - I’ve heard Kill La Kill and Gurren Lagan(?) are good. I enjoyed Death Note but it went on forever.

I loved Attack on Titan.

I liked to 3 episode doc on the NFL player Aaron who lived a double life as a gangsta / killer

On NFL wages I'd consider a more peaceful "hobby" ...

I sat through a lot of Hero Mask as there’s elements of the first couple that resonated with me a bit, but the plot creaks along like a geriatric glacier drifting across an ocean on a Sunday. Some of the plot points you can see coming from miles away too. Looks the part but difficult to recommend.

New Zhang Yimou movie Shadow is coming to Netflix this week. It looks amazing.

Turns out it is great. Though the Tencent Pictures logo did inspire instant revulsion.

Another great watch now on Netflix is Dolemite Is My Name, which is great fun.

Definitely "Erased", a proper thriller which may bring a couple of tears.

I Lost My Body: absolutely masterful.

I wouldn't say masterful as it was very much a film of two halves with the handier half being far, far more entertaining than the other more mundane story being told.

Looked fantastic though.

The "mundane" part was a very effective little drama I thought.

Very happy to find that Uncut Gems will be on Netflix at the end of the month.

The Safdie brothers last film, Good Time was one of the best things I watched last year.

Uncut Gems is the film of the year, I’m happy to bet there won’t be anything better.

Bold claim for a January there fella, but if it's as good as Good Time you might be onto something.

Seriously, it’s an actual modern masterpiece.

I’ve not seen Good Time so no idea how it compares.

Good Time is amazing and has me real interested in anything Robert Pattison and the brothers who wrote, directed and starred(?) in it are doing now.

I think Good Time is the better film.

‘Kipo & the age of the Wonderbeasts’ is really very good. Enjoyed binge watching it with the kids last night.

Only a couple of episodes in, but I like it. Love the musical bees. The show in general seems quite musical so far.

I watched it on Netflix, I think/hope it's still on there. Log out of here and do yourself a favour. You will not regret it

Not a film the brothers did, but if you're interested in Robert Pattison films, watch The Rover. Great movie.

Was on Netflix, not sure if it still is.
