Have you tried an ironing board? Better than nothing although naturally not ideal.

And while I remember, buy your good selves a pair of these http://granturgismo.com/buypaddles.html

they are fantastic - mine have never ever fallen off and they do get a hard time

Just got my set of these, top recommendation! One was clicking for a while until I adjusted the screw a bit (got the adjustable one) but now it's flawless

Nice one! They really do add something to the whole experience. Especially when racing ... Trying to remember the apex ... Remember the correct speed for the corner ... Getting the gear right ... It's non-stop and really gives me an adrenalin rush.

I got my Logitech Driving Force Pro out of the attic this weekend to try out on this game (having only tried it for ten minutes with a 360 controller) and oh my... really good. Such a great feeling when you hit the apex spot on.

A shame about the AI though. They seem to be completely oblivious to me if I happen to be in their racing line, and the smallest contact from them sends me spinning whereas they can take a full speed ram and barely wobble. I'm hoping this is just alpha AI, and assume this will be improved as it develops.

Great! Looks like I need to boot the PC and do some downloading tonight.... :) Any news on the 'Ring? I know they were laser scanning it in the summer.... :) Looking good though.

It all seems a lot smoother now. Nice to finally have a single player campaign. But fuck me...the menu's in this are terrible. And still no controller support for the menu's either, or have I missed that? Having to juggle using a mouse and then the pad for a race just seems silly.

After finishing a race how do you actually quit back to menu? I always have to switch window back to desktop, right click the program and close. Then the menu loads with the results and stuff. Pressing escape in game just seems to hang it (even though head tracking still works and I can look around)

All I know is that there is some DLC soon (don't know any dates)

DREAM PACK DLC:

Nurburgring Nordschleife

Sauber Mercedes C9

Corvette C7R GTE

Nissan GTR GT3

Alfa Romeo 4C

Alfa Romeo GTA

Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI

McLaren P1

McLaren F1 GTR

Ruf RT 35 S

Mercedes 190 E 2.6-16 Evolution 2

There is a mod by Snoopy that works apparently (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/n%C3%BCrburgring-nordschleife.2270/) I'm going to give this a go tonight.

Hoping the DLC gets a winter release....

Google translation...

McLaren If you change your mind ...

Let me be clear, the results of these creations are amateur compared to those of the Kunos. "Recreating a circuit costs from sixty to one hundred thousand euro between programming, licensing and laser scanning with a resolution of one square centimeter, while the machines there is the quarry from fifteen to twenty thousand euro," notes Mark Massarutto. "At first it was difficult to persuade licensees to cooperate with us. Some, however, have given us confidence and skeptics have changed their minds, to the point that McLaren, Toyota and Nissan have also asked to be present. " Too bad the game is PC only, precluding the lavish console market. "Sony has already sent a development kit for the PlayStation 4 and the idea of bringing our baby also on the next-gen console is now more concrete than it was a few months ago," replies Massarutto. Let's hope so, because Kunos Simulations deserves to think big.

I've been playing this over the last few nights since it went to Release candidate 1, mostly multi-player in Ferrari 458 GTs and McLaren MP4Cs around Spa and Nurburgring GP. It still has a few rough edges, the interface is a bit meh but the driving/handling is brilliant.

Having mostly played Gran Turismo and Froza previously, this is my first PC Sim and it's a significant step on in terms of handling, force feedback and immersion. It's also much more difficult which generally means I get completely absorbed in it as I'm having to concentrate much more.

I've been putting a bit of time into this since it went RC. Very, very enjoyable, even with my old Logitech wheel (Red Wingman Formula Force GP - now 14 years old!!). My favourite car so far is the McLaren GT3. Hooning round Spa and/or Monza just feels so right!

I still cant decide between my preferred view: in car (which looks glorious, especially when the sun his the windscreen just right) or bonnet cam. Im faster in bonnet cam, and the sensation of speed is greater, but I feel I'm missing out on the shineys a bit...

Overall - a brilliant sim!

Going to try and hook up a couple of more screens its going to be interesting to see how this is with a 3 screen setup!!!

Although not tried it yet it's just an idea as I recently got a new monitor on the PC to replace the dual screen setup I previously had. I'm guessing (hoping) that I can mix/match screens....

Anyway first things first.... new graphics card imminently arriving... so probably be spending most of the night playing around setting and testing that. :D

Still no news of a firm release date of Dream pack #1. :) Looking forward to that.
