Assetto Corsa

I don't get it either. Driving game supports steering wheels shocker! Project Cars has supported both of my wheels just fine since well before launch. The ffb was weak at first on the xbone but that's been sorted since.

Unless the Logitech bit is new to them.

Sadly they probably just mean the G29, which I was really excited about until it said "Not compatible with PCs" which just means it's not better than any other single machine wheel.

The surprise was the Fanatec bit. Thats two simulators now. I'm assuming it'll be standard now - which probably means GT7 as well. Obviously i can play the PC version but its still good news as i play more peeps on here.

According to their “sources close to Logitech”, the wheel will only be compatible with the PS3 and PS4. That leaves out the PC, which was famously well supported by the wheel’s predecessors, the G25 and G27.

We'll see, hopefully it'll be PC, that'll be the difference between "Pre-order" and "Never buy" most likely.

Bought this last night. My PC isn't good enough to run it nicely though so I'm gonna be bringing back this laptop to give it a proper go.

Does anyone here play it with a Thrustmaster T150? Wondering about optimal settings.

I've got the T300 and I think they're pretty similar wheels.  I didn't have to play around with the settings at all tbh, plays really well out of the box.

With regards to the performance on your pc, what graphics card do you have?  It was running very poorly on my 970 until I figured out through some online investigation that the game was failing to enable the graphics card properly.  I had to change a setting to sort this and it ran perfectly afterwards; I can't remember what the setting was though and a quick google hasn't helped either.

Cheers.

It was on my home server which is a pretty decent CPU but no GPU. Just the onboard Intel.

This work laptop has an i7 and a GTX 960M.  I just tested out the benchmark on it and got around 50fps with mostly everything on max which I'm pretty happy with. I think I'll try to lower certain things to see if I can get it locked at 60.

The console release for this is this week I believe.

From the videos I have watched it seems fairly decent, but is available to pre-order for less than £30. I feel like I am being led into a trap.

Is this just a case of a well respected and regarded PC game being converted to consoles? Or is it pigs ear?

So this could turn out pretty well then! I'll keep my eye on this one then. The price (£29.99 most places) communicates that its some sort of dud, but hopefully turns out its a bit of a bargain!

It's too cheap, what ;)

Kunos just seem to price things fairly, gaining a fair bit of respect for the quality and price of their dlc too. I hope this is a big success for them.

Fanatec support has - as expected - gone AWOL from the PS4 version, which combined with a glut of games I want to play at the moment was enough for me to cancel my pre-order. Really want to give it a go, but it does come across as something that really should be experienced with a wheel if you can.

I do like how if a game comes out at £50 everyone says "Oh I'll wait till it's £30".

And if a game comes out at £30 they say "It must be shit or it'd be £50".

Well, you have a right to be suspicious. There are Codemaster Rally games and there are Milestone Rally games you know.

I've decided to pass on this game anyway, as I feel there just isn't a "game" in this. Its something probably PCARS suffered from as well, everything unlocked at the start, nothing really to aim for.

I'm not talking Gran Turismo levels of tedious grind, but something to play for at least. Going to stick with F1 2016 career for now.

I would wait for impressions if you're a pad user simply because there's probably about 5 PC users who ever used a pad with it.

I did, about a year ago, as I couldn't be arsed digging out my wheel for a quick play.

It was terrible.

but I would be incredibly surprised if they went for a console release without doing work on it.

Indeed, as a Bumper cars game works perfect, otherwise nah, it's not even on the same league physics-wise as AC is, especially with a steering wheel.

And according to that video, so does Assetto Corsa on consoles. If you're looking for videos which justify your axe grinding maybe watch them first?

Assetto has a nice career mode. If you stick to that you'll find a nice structured and linear game that progresses through all the car classes.

That fact they're unlocked at the start is pretty irrelevant if you play via this mode.

For those with the PC version I highly recommend http://www.simracingsystem.com

Download the in game app and then from the main menu book to join an up and coming race (hourly) e.g. next is GT4 at Zandvoort @ 22:00 BST, just finished a brilliant GT3 race at Donnington Park which was @ 20:00 BST, cars moving out of the way for those on Quali hot lap and blue flags observed, 17 racers (17 laps finished 4th :) ). Roughly 10 min Quali and 25 min Race.

Generally full of clean racers as there is a points vs incidents scoring system. Tracks change weekly.

Also versions for RF2 and Automobilista.
