I got the rest of my Dark Souls game today. Shit my pants as I had an email saying I had a delivery but couldn’t recall ordering anything. There’s fucking loads of it! I’ve still not attempted to play it - it’s a bit poop isn’t it? I have zero experience with proper board games.

My wife has asked if it is accessible, also a novice.

Leave it sealed up if any of it is KS exclusive, job lot it on eBay, profit.

Hmm I’ve opened it all now. I also cannot be fucked with eBay anymore.

I shall leave each piece to someone in my will, so they can remember me.

Unbroken is finally on it's way.

And it's a neat enough game.  I'll post in the what are you playing thread if I have time.  One thing which leaves a bad taste, although perhaps we shouldn't be surprised, is the predominance of Golden Bell staff in the credits, giving themselves rather grandiose titles to boot.   You get he impression Safarov was just a bit part in this, despite the fact that GB were  only involved late on in the KS.

The Isle of Cats has turned up - very impressed by Frank West's communication and project management.  Let's see what sort of a game we have here.

Anyone interested in Black Sonata, winner of a prestigious Cosmic Black Hole award for solo play, there is a reprint and expansion up now https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sideroomgames/black-sonata-the-fair-youth?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=black sonata

Tempting - would there be any interest in a group pledge from here?

I’m still umming and ahhing over whether to get it, but my mate’s already got me pencilled in. What I would recommend though is that if you’re doing a group buy to make sure you all live near enough to each other, or can meet up somewhere,  that you won’t have to post it again within the UK, otherwise it’s pointless.

One of my very long outstanding KS has arrived - Anno Domini 1666.  This is well outside my normal "comfort zone" for games since it is a fantastically detailed card driven period (sort of, not strictly because of fantastical elements) 2P war-game with incredibly detailed character sheets and miniatures.  The Polish team responsible have taken some stick for fulfilling Polish orders first and selling units at conventions but there isn't the same bad taste as with Unbroken.  Also, they have taken on the whole packing and distribution task which is immense with something this size - I have no idea if this has would have proved cost effective for them compared to using one of the usual distribution agents.

Speaking of cost effectiveness, I'm compiling a spreadsheet of KS costs since I got the bug big time in April 2018 :quote: :o.  Not co-incidentally, I'll be looking to move some games on shortly.

Coming soon!

 :omg:

Reprint of the 2nd edition of Pax Pamir. For those of you who didn’t take the plunge with Oath, this is an excellent alternative from the same developer, who also did Root. Tried and and tested, much loved and a great solo mode. Oh, and cheaper too. Probably.

A really beautiful game.

Infinidungeon

Choice of 6 20 ft long, 1" gridded, wipe clean dungeon maps on a scroll.. £38 for a scroll and a pair of the handles.. about £30 for additional scrolls £150 for all 6..

(One is a plain grid and the 6th is to be decided by backers)

Looks fun, but might be a bit overkill!

I did back the creator's previous Kickstarter - which was for an A2 sized dungeon layout book, which was excellent..

The Ell deck is fantastic and Bez and Tom are super people who helped me with Forks (originally an Ell deck game). Lovely little deck of cards and deserves to fund

Hey, I know Tom! Can confirm he is super. I've actually played this game with him, a long time ago. Just checked BG Stats to confirm. And I beat him at it. :)

A couple of friends of mine are launching their new game Theurgy on March 10th and have just release the promo video. I played it not long ago and loved it.

I've backed it but it's not looking hopeful. Less than 100 backers so far and less than 20% of the target. I do hope it picks up but kickstarters often struggle if they don't fly on the first couple of days.

That's great you backed it. Unfortunately they pulled it a few days ago as it obviously wasn't going to hit its (huge!) target. It was an uphill struggle for unknown designers with a new product to start with, but apparently many KS are seeing lower than usual backing due to the current state of the World.

I suggested a few things, like make the target lower, as many far bigger games seem to have relatively small targets. But apparently they're not accurate for covering production costs as they know they'll rake in far more, whereas smaller games have to make their money back. You can create a target below what you need I guess and hope for the best. Also, I think £59 is a bit much, one reason being, they went to great trouble to ensure the game was 100% green but then didn't use the fact in any marketing. So they'll be doing that in the future.

They're listening to feedback and will be re-launching at a later date with improved components, upfront stretch goals on display and maybe one or two other neat little extras. I had a couple of design ideas I thought would be cool, so be interesting to see if they implement any of those.

I'll let you all know when it's back on track. :)
