There's some lovely stuff in there, but I already own all the games and the animated series and I have enough soundtracks/remixed soundtracks to be going on with, so it'd be hard to justify the price for what remains in the box. I still want it though because I just love giving my money to Capcom for fighting game related goods and I love big fancy boxsets.

If I do spend that sort of money on my fighting game obsession, I think it'd be a better investment to get a new TE or mod my current one though. It's definitely showing its age after a few years of near constant use.

I'm still hoping they do Alpha 2 or Alpha 3 for XBLA/PSN as part of the anniversary celebrations as I still have to play those on Saturn/DC/Emulators/Alpha Anthology at the moment.

I expect if those were planned for this year they'd be included? Please let them exist. I like that I have this one console with all of the fighting games on it.

Joffo and JLM confirmed for buying it anyway.

Um...price?

$149?

Seems a pretty decent deal, considering the DLC and stuff is all included.

I like the idea of owning a disc of SFIV or SFxT where the DLC's actually available from the outset. :P It might be handy for if you know local peeps who play and you want to get the full experience without worrying about what your friends have and haven't bought. :D

I wonder if the SFII anime is the uncut one with Sagat's scar, Chun-Li's mams etc?

Yeah, it's mostly for consolidating all my existing fighting games into one easily manageable box that I want them. And yes, they would surely be in here if they had any intention of doing it. Sad.

Buying it anyway is my policy when it comes to fighting games. That's why I own a copy of Spectral vs Generation for PS2 even though I knew I'd only play it for twenty minutes. If it's a fighting game product and I am not literally starving to death then I will purchase it.

Actually why haven't they released the alphas, and street fighter ex. I really liked them. Alpha 3 was an amazing game, with a huge character roster, and I seem to recall finding out recently that at a high level it was just completely and utterly broken in almost every way, with untold levels of wildness.

Also cvs2 and street fighter vs xmen should be in it please.

Oh. $149 is pretty reasonable. I was expecting something stupid, like double that.

I guess if it appears over here it'll be £129. It's not exactly cheap, but it's not terrifying either.

Seems a bit pointless really. Fans of Street Fighter will have all of those games. If SFIII and Street Fighter 2 Flash Remix were on disc, that would be nice. But they won't be. I bet the costumes will be DLC codes too.

I'll take two.

Sadly, I think they would have announced this by now. I have Alpha Anthology but because it won't install and play from my PS2 HDD with HDLoader it gives me the huff.

I have that too. And on PSP.

Fighting games

Kind of disappointing that the game that's actually celebrating its 25th anniversary this year - and the only one I don't own at least one copy of - isn't included.

Looks like HDR and 3SOE are download tokens on a square bit of paper from that picture, Joffie. It's a good thing, because if they were all fully patched disc versions I'd have to buy it, too. I long for a fully patched disc version of AE despite the absence of such a thing have zero impact on my or anybody else's life.

Oh hey, I'm in a street fighter thread.

Those games would all be delicious. I think at high level SFA3 was all Custom Stun/100% combo antics or something. It's a really fun game at basic human level though. I think tournament level CvS2 play was all about obsessively roll cancelling absolutely every single thing ever, or something, which I remember reading some people didn't like.

It really is. V-Ism combos are the silliest thing but it's such a fun game to watch at that level, and fun in an entirely different way when played by mere mortals. Occasionally at Casino you'll see a dude come in who consistently does these 50 hit Chun Li juggles that go on forever and they are as wild as you would like.

I have Alpha Anthology but because it won't install and play from my PS2 HDD with HDLoader it gives me the huff.

That is annoying. What annoys me is that CVS2 doesn't run on 360 so I have to play it on my creaky old original Xbox.

I'd love both CvS games on Arcade. Also, Fighters History Dynamite. And Last Blade. Where is Last Blade? Mind you, I bought KoF98UM and 2002UM on Arcade *and* own both the fuckers on PS2 and have barely touched them.

Breakers. I want Breakers too.

And Bloody Roar.

That is annoying. What annoys me is that CVS2 doesn't run on 360 so I have to play it on my creaky old original Xbox.

Worse still, PS2 CVS2 has no music on HDLoader. And KOF XI crashes constantly.

Life sucks. I don't know why I bother.

Ooh, what a lovely box. Let's say 149 US$ equals to 149 Euro, I am actually interested. Not so much for the games (already own three of em), the bonus content is what tickles my interest.

It's funny, because when I used to play these games pre-internet I'd play them as often as I do now but have none of the knowledge. So we'd play random selext/random ISM and think V-Ism was the worst one because we didn't know how to use it properly. Similarly, we thought Aegis Reflector was Urien's worst Super because it didn't deal massive immediate damage like the other two. Simpler times.

Breakers Revenge is amazing. Alsion III and Pielle have two of my favourite fighting game voice acting performances ever . We should have a poverty fighter thread really.

Does the Bluray stuff come on PS3 only?

Actually I don't know why I'm asking, my fight stick and fight pad are on the PS3. Only thing I've got from that pack is SSF2THDR (only have SFIV and SSFIV so the Arcade edition suits me).

Bit lazy really isn't it?

In terms of games they've just chucked in their two current disc releases, one of which is a crossover (Tekken in a SF anniversary collection is a bit weird) and thrown in some DLC codes. Something not yet on current consoles drawn from the massive library of SF games on a disc would have been superb. Or even a new version of SSFIV with an added character or even just different music or, I don't know, *something*. Something where one of the actual games is the anniversary collection version.

Bleh.

Yeah. This is me with every fighting game prior to SFIV coming along. Hence me having played dozens of the buggers without actually really knowing how to play them.

My friend had a Neo Geo cab in his living room with Breakers in it. Such an excellent game. Then he got rid of his entire collection and is now living in Kazakhstan. Probably because I beat him with Alsion, the Dhalsim of Breakers.

I r disappoint. Where's SF I, World Warrior, CE and Turbo? Let alone a proper version of SSF2 Turbo. Hopefully we'll get something better (ha), maybe we'll even get Gary Harrod and Jaz Rignall's Mean Machines guide on a BR disc. That would sway me.

I don't think any of the EX games will see the light of day because of licensing issues with Arika. It's a bit of a blessing in disguise really.

I would utterly, utterly love a whole bunch of worn-VHS 90's footage of hype-as-hell Street Fighter stuff on bluray. Wildly poor strategy guides and tips and guys with completely wild hairstyles telling me all the most wicked combos and rad moves and stuff. Shit TV ads and the like. That's a 25th Anniversary I'd be all over.
