No offense folks but this just isn't true. I made 3 million eddies in a few hours (current patch version) by crafting and selling Yukimuras. Your profit at lower rarities will be poorer, but you just have to do it for longer.

Perfect. I don't want to be loaded, and I'm not looking for some magic shortcut. Personally, I use crafting to get stuff I like to legendary and then upgrade them occasionally. Most of the parts come from shredding loot. But yes, if I can make a pot of cash to buy all the vehicles then I can stop over analyzing which one to get and fetch the lot. 3 million ought to do it! Oh and I discovered the wardrobe feature the other day, so now look like how I want to look from crafted stuff without fretting that some new loot has better stats.

I don't know if I can make yukimuras but will look into it, cheers!

edit - looks like I could craft the epic already, but found the legendary on an NCPD gig.

OK, got the crafting for money thing down, cheers @Floshenbarnical!

On about 500 eddies of bits, I sell a legendary Yukimura for 2300. Plus I typically have most of the parts from disassembling loot. I cleaned out 2 vendors of the parts and made a quick 45k. I think most of the time I spent was riding between vendors. Anyway, that's enough petty cash to buy all the cars and apartments, so I'll just clean out a vendor of their parts each time I pass one, rather than going out of my way, and that should build up the money nicely. On top of NPCD stuff.

Speaking of which, I was in a crafting mood so went looking for whatever the iconic Burya is. Turns out it's Comrade's Hammer, and the recipe drops from an NCPD. Perfect! Except I've already done than specific one, and I don't have the recipe. Got a lousy feeling I forgot to loot someone. Sad panda. Oh well. Will make a normal legendary version.

There's one vendor that sells all the components you need, and they're out in the desert so you don't need to leave the store to skip 24 hours. You can just stand there buying, selling, and skipping time. It's in Jackson Plains south of the solar farm, east of the Biotechnica hydroponic farms. Bit of a grind though.

This is gonna sound stupid but I hate the way my guy looks (he looks like officer Doofy from Scary Movie) is there options to change body shape/size or maybe even gender?

You can change appearence at any Ripperdoc (now)

I think you can change your face at your apartment mirror too.

I tend to stick with original V face - every other one I've found looks a bit off to me. But then, I find that's pretty much the same with every single game of this type anyway!

Thanks!

I’m about 11 hours into this now and really enjoying it. Although I just know I’ve barely scratched the surface.

Deffo had some bugs but it’s all so dense I don’t really hold it against it.

Sense of place and atmosphere is sublime. I love the way it’s not just future buildings but old recognisable architecture too, feels really realistic in that way rather than just generic future sci-fi city.

What a wally. I had the crafting spec, but I had to make the epic version first! Holy shit, chamber only holds 1 bullet but it does 3,000 odd damage  So I'm on a bit of an iconic weapon spree now. I (finally) noticed the crime vs assault NCPD missions, with the former sometimes giving the legendary crafting specs. Good a nice selection of rifles, and just found a classic shotgun. Spolit for choice.

It's spectacular. I routinely stop what I'm doing and just gawp at everything around me, even 80 hours in.

Yeah it’s stunning. Completely agree with what was said upthread about how much “fuller” it makes the world seem and turning it back off does make everything seem flatter.

It’s the only game I’ve ever played where the ray tracing 30fps is superior just down to how much life it injects into the city with all its extra gubbins.

Makes me curious about the Witcher 3 ray tracing option which I’d similarly dismissed.

Will be a while before I get to that though.

When it's wet those reflections are absolutely stunning. And Clouds reception - staggering.

I'm playing the PC version maxed out at 4k. It is hands down the best looking game I have ever seen.

More than any other game I've played, it's this one that shows you just how fucking good ray-tracing effects can be. Whether or not they're good enough to blow as much money as I did on GPUs is another matter entirely, but for me it was at least!

Did they ever enable the option get rid of the yellow pill bouncing around the screen constantly (the one that poijnts out your objective). Ruined immersion for me, and all I want is to be able to toggle it on or off like in any normal game.

I believe there's a HUD-less mode? Does that do it?

So last night playing I was walking down an alley in Japantown. I suddenly noticed that the shadow cast by buildings was moving as the sun went down. Simple, but the shadow was cast on irregular walls and other objects, and had a little shine to it, presumably from a window somewhere higher up. I just stood and watched it. After a while I wondered off and some dust rolled in, so how it's a hazy, diffuse sunlight and everything has a yellow tint, still with shadows. I get on my bike and ride a bit and it starts to rain, on top of the rest of it. Fuck me it looked good. I stopped dead in an intersection and took some screenshots but it didn't properly capture what it felt like.

This is singularly the best looking game ever made.

Here they are. Not so great as stills, it was stunning in motion.

I'm really well into the game now. You really do have to take your time and experience the thing - something that I certainly didn't do originally. I'm assuming there's a whole lot of stuff they did to the game with patch 1.6 that really has had an impact on the game (the last time I played the thing was at launch and through a few updates), but I'm very much enjoying it now.

I've decided to go the whole hog and do as many of the side missions as they pop up before pushing the main story along (well, in as much of a logical role-playing way as I can muster!) - so, I'm booked to go to the Afterlife for the first time, but I've made time to clear up any and all the main side missions as have appeared before doing so. Just cleared up the last gig for now and I reckon it's time to have a drink :P

And I'm still absolutely obsessed with this Mox...

Tried raytracing and 30fps on the PS5. Think I need to play around with the other settings a little bit but goodness me the neon drenched sections of the city look gorgeous.

Haven’t done a story mission for about 15 hours, still exploring and picking off side missions and NCPD tasks.

Oh god, I’ve reached the point when the title credit appears and the world becomes unfathomably large and scary.

Also, I now need to put clothes on. There’s just too much stuff! I feel walking around in pants is the easiest option at the moment :(

Just let your V wander around with their bits out, this is the way.

Driving around the city is a joy. Well worth putting a waypoint as far away as possible and having a mini road trip, just taking in the sights and sounds of Night City.

I have to say that now I've finally come to terms with what the game is not - namely some unfeasibly impossibly perfect game I'd somehow got it into my mind it was surely going to be - I'm now appreciating what the game actually is.

And I've got say - it's pretty amazing. Pity it's only taken me a couple of years to be turned around on the thing, but I really think I should have applauded the level of ambition in this game more than I did. Or maybe it's the latest major patch that has taken off so much of the rougher edges maybe? I haven't played it properly since release so I can't say. But, I am really enjoying it now. There's so much to do, and so much to see

I'm really happy that I'm a convert now and perfectly happy to have been wrong :P

It's my belated game of the year, not of the year.

So to speak.

I’ve finally, finally started this game after buying it on release on PS5, then again on the Series X.

Are there any recommended, OFFICIAL, RLLMUK-approved settings that this should be played with on the Series X? Visuals and controller settings seem a bit off at the moment but may just be me needing to get used to how different they are compared to the other games I’ve been playing recently.
