I've seen the tech trees for CP2077. In this particular department the top surface of the class building is very Skyrim. But then things go much deeper.

I'm with @Talk Show Host here. Vanilla Skyrim is borderline unplayable without 60GB of mods and 12 weeks of spare time for configuring them. I'll certainly never risk another run without the unofficial patch.

Yes, there are Skyrim vibes for sure in the sense of exploration as well, as the game seems to combine so many different elements. This is not an action rpg though, it’s a full blown rpg and hugely complex. Much more than W3.

My modded Skyrim run was more enjoyable for sure. It is true about the unofficial patch. Seeing how dedicated  CDPR is and how Bethesda literally has build their games to be fixed and expanded by the community is an embarrassing divide to say the least.

It’s really not. It’s mediocre and bland in almost everything, combat and writing especially. It does have a nice sense of exploration though and amazing soundtrack.

But this is getting way too off course for the thread.

I’d also like to inform that you are both wrong. Consider it a free service!

Whether it's Farmville, Candy Crush, or Skyrim - I just accept that a lot of people genuinely love these games even if I don't see the appeal at all. They have a huge audience so they're doing something right.

Your reason has no power here!

Of course they are doing something right for the people who like them, as any game, no one ever said otherwise. :)

You know what really fucking pisses me off? That even though the game HAS FUCKING LEAKED and some stoner type dudebro from SWEDEN lets all his duuuuude friends have a go with his fancy stolen copy and yet NOBODY TELLS US WHETHER THERE'S A 60FPS OPTION.

I think as someone mentioned earlier, even if Cyberpunk is a beige mess like Skyrim you will still have the die hard group that defend it to the end.

Judging by what we have seen so far it at least has variety.

I'm getting it on base PS4 too, I'm sure it'll be fine and look great, I'm just worried about loading times, and not arsed about framerate. So that's at least 3 of us enjoying the game in last-gen, not that I'm jealous of everyone elses cyber-rigs and upgraded consoles and next gen consoles, oh no sireee...

The depth of customisation is really quite bizarre. I'm almost certain Cyberpunk started out as 3rd person and they later changed it to first person otherwise there's no way they'd focus on it so much. Maybe they already had a good character creation implemented before going 1st person and there wasn't much reason to ditch it. Or maybe it just ballooned into a nice feature they could use to promote and sell copies regardless of its actual impact in-game.

On the other hand, they really took the source material to heart with this game, and part of that is pen and paper character customisation. I've seen interviews where CD game designers go on about them wanting you to have the character you want and really live out that role playing experience. If that's one of the major goals for the dev team, the depth in character customisation makes more sense. Even if you don't see your character that much, you have that ownership of them, how they look and act, and it all sells the feeling that it's uniquely *your* character.

I mean, any 'outrage' on display isn't about the options, it's about the crunch and the way it's been excused in some quarters - particularly for this, TLOU2 and RDR2 - as a necessary sacrifice for the "high art" that said games represent. Taking said crunch and said excuse, and comically juxtaposing them against the game's genital sliders, seems reasonably good-humoured to be honest!

It was always first person but originally there were third person cutaways (sounded like the modern deus ex games, cuts to third person for actions like climbing, taking cover and for cutscenes). At some point they made it all first person.

At least they aren't selling loads of clothing microtransactions as far as I know.
