It's a stonker of a game which has great potential for a sequel which would clearly be set in dublin. Have references to 'Bloody Sunday; have a drop in drop out coop system called 'With or Without you. None of the streets will have names, you'll be looking for more dee letters because that guy still hasn't found what he's looking for. And you get to smash bono in his smug face with a cricket bat.

So yeah, I was about to finish the game. The last bit is actually quite tense but obviously I won't spoil it :)

One niggle: when you're near the end of the endgame (you'll know when), make sure you DON'T DIE! I just did and am now unable to reload my 'finished' save. I accept it as sort of a 'bad ending', but it'll eat at me for a while now :(

Oh well, looks like I'll have at least one more playthough. Not anytime soon though.

Flipping' heck! This game! I may have to take up smoking if I want to complete it.

The

storm outside Buck Palace

created so much tension especially when I could hear zombie screams somewhere close by.

Just played that part myself.. Stumbled across a YiggyU zombie and caved his head in!

Such a great game and the demon/dark souls comparisons are beginning to surface now. As my survivor is more experienced its becoming a bigger and bigger dilemma whether to push onwards or keep backtracking to a safe house. Love the pace and feeling of vulnerability throughout, just wish more games took this approach.

Ha Ha I died a lot last night. That bit is very atmospheric.

Tell you what's a bit annoying though. If you die with a load of shit on you. Then you die again on the way back to kill yourself and retrieve your shit. Your first zombie and pile of shit is gone for good right? You can only get the stuff (which wont be much) from your last dead person. That is kinda annoying.

It's more than made up by the fact that you can find friends and get all the stuff they die with though.

In fact it kind of highlights the lower level of importance that this game puts on equipment. There should always be ways to get stuff I guess. And you always have your trustee willow and 6 bullets. :)

Shot a zombie with my cross bow. Boom headshot! Go to get the bolt back and he has disappeared, with my bolt leaving just a blood splatter on the floor. Not happy! I'm actually finding zombies are not much if a problem now I put obstacles between me an them and try to take them on one at a time doesn't mean I'm not worried I could die at any second though.

So this game is actually frightening or just tense? I couldn't play Silent Hill Shattered Memories. I didn't even make it to a scary bit. Well, I did, the swing, but nothing has actually happened by then so I suppose I shouldn't bother with this.

The Tower of London was pretty bad. There's a bit where

you turn a corner and theres a zombie back lit out of sight at the end of a corridor so you can just see his shadow. You know for a fact he isn't the only one, because the radar is going off like a bad chip tune, and you really, really don't want to go down there but you have to because that's the only way to get where you're going.

I stood there for a good 3 minutes checking ammo, doubt checking where all my loadout was on the screen and making sure there were no other nasty surprises lurking.

Man, this is fucking intense. I played about an hour last night and haven't even made it out the safe house yet. That one zombie you have to kill after jumping into the room to get the first card took me about five minutes of looking everywhere else for a way in to avoid it, before steeling myself to go in and twat it to bits. Every time I go to leave the place, I run back to the safe room.

I  Poppy Campbell..27 year old typist from London... and proffessional zombie-killer!

Shes my latest character and is still going strong after 2hrs 20mins, with 72 kills to her name. No idea if this is any good, but clearing out Buckingham Palace and the Royal Bunker without dying felt like a massive achievement!

Although only reason shes still alive is because my wife alerted me to a zombie I was totally unaware of whilst the shit was hitting the fan.

Only problem now is that I just dont want to leave the safehouse again! Bloody love this game!!

R.I.P Poppy Campbell :(

Knew I was fucking tempting fate with that last post.. still 87 kills was a good innings.. I knew I should have backtracked and saved, was getting too tired and made a stupid mistake around Brick Lane Flats! Lesson learnt!

Is there a shortcut from the start of the game to inside the palace?

Seems a lomg track back when you die from that one at the Victoria memorial.

The shortcut is in a stairwell in the doctors lab

Sh!t I didn’t know this, I was past the doctors lab and completely missed that shortcut. I was well into Buckingham Palace when I died and it put me back at the original safe house and I was like ‘screw that! I’m not trekking all the way back there!’ so turned the game off.

Does anyone know if the game saves when you die?

I have a save in Buckingham Palace and thought I would prefer to reload that save than trek back.

On reflection last nights session on this has to rate as one of my best gaming experiences this year..

Can't understate how tense this game becomes once you start doing well.. I was totally attached to the character (despite every random character essentially being the same), I wanted her to survive, and fought to make it happen. Every encounter mattered, involved pre-planning and quite often quick thinking.

All the time knowing full well that, just like Dark Souls, the game will punish you for YOUR mistakes, not as a result of the games own failings.

This is basically the evolution of the Resi series that I've been waiting many a year for... and I love it

Oh and I managed to get all of Poppy's stuff back too. Although her corpse was PISSED!! It gave off a red aura and was safe to say she wanted Eli (my new character, who's a sailor!) dead!

If anyone else stumbles across her roaming the streets of Brick Lane, do me a favour and end her suffering!
