Monaco can pay ludicrous wages as they are based in a tax haven. I know the French league was kicking off against that, but I don't think there is much they can do. Would be funny if they kicked them out though, Monaco would have a to split into two sides so they had someone to play domestically.

I think the FFF are trying to implement something where every Ligue 1 club has to be registered in France, so that Monaco players have to pay normal income tax. If that 75% rate comes in they'd be at a huge advantage as it is.

If it stays as it is, and with PSG and Monaco having money fights, the Russian super-rich teams (plus the likes of City) are going to have to turn up their cash hoses to full flow if they want to tempt big name players over. Given that there's now the option of being paid a huuuge load of money to play and live in Dagestan or Manchester OR get paid a huuuge load of money to play and live in sunny, swanky tax haven Monaco, it's not much of a choice.

Andy Townsend really is a fucking moron isn't he. talking about a great advantage played by the ref, because it allowed lewandowski no option but to shoot from 30 yards with 3 defenders between him and the goal. rather then a freekick in a really dangerous position.

So much for Robben's newfound selflessness. Two times he could've set up a team mate when being closed down, and instead wastes the chance by trying to shape for a shot.

He has a tendency to bottle it in big matches doesn't he?

No doubt he'll score the winner now.
